5 Stars5 Stars5 Stars5 Stars5 StarsIt never ceases to amaze me. Another incorrect typo within the FTD "For LP Fans Only" on page 4 of the inside booklet at the top on the right hand side it states, "Consisting of five of the Sun Records cuts, four RCA Victor single sides and a movie track..." Should have read four of the Sun Records cuts, five RCA Victor single sides.... Does anybody at FTD know what a proof reader is?

5 Stars5 Stars5 Stars5 Stars5 StarsFinally received my copy yesterday, Jan. 8, 2019. With the exception of "Shake, Rattle and Roll" the original released RCA version and the faulty double tracking of both Elvis and Bill Black's voices, resulting in a background hum one can discern, this FTD edition is awesome and believe it or not, there is some updated sound as to the live tracks, both radio and TV; the TV being the most spectacular! Even the outlandish informal recordings from his stint in Germany, aren't all that bad as some folks would have you believe, but I do agree I won't be listening to that segment any time soon; once is enough. The recording of the Steve Allen program is really significant. One can hear Bill Black's bass playing and the man can rock! Too bad the recording process back in the day wasn't better. A 5 star plus issue if ever there was from my point of view. Buy it.

5 Stars5 Stars5 Stars5 Stars5 StarsFinally broke down and actually ordered this FTD issue. The cover alone and the photos included within look like they're worth the price of admission. It's supposedly due for release Dec. 14th, 2018, which is this coming Friday. I had the original LP of this album back in the day and I rather loved the sequence of the songs. In the interim I've downloaded and made my own version of this album quite a while ago. It was a "holding action" on behalf of RCA and I remember this album cover was in the backgound of Dick Clark's American Bandstand when he (Clark) was at his podium. This wraps up my involvement with FTD unfortunately as I really see absolutely nothing upcoming as to a "new release" from them. A great run while it lasted. Sweet dreams!

3 Stars3 Stars3 StarsI'll be listening to tracks 1-14 a lot. I'll be shutting it down a lot when the Germany tracks kick in. I have no use for the home recorded stuff. Without those I'd give this release 4 stars. But their inclusion drops it to 3.
