You gave me love to enjoy
Like a bright shiny toy to a baby
No matter what you would do
I depended on you like a baby
One thing I know I love you
Yes I loved you like a baby
It was a fool that you took
And I fell 'cause you look like a baby
To lover's ways I was blind
'Cause I just had a mind like a baby
You're just a flirt
And I had to be hurt just like a baby
I need you so, I need you so
The day I found how you lied
Then I broke down and cried like a baby
Well it was then I could see
You were playing with me like a baby
Well you can bet that some day
I'd forget just like a baby

Great. Give me an album full of this stuff anytime. Super vocal.
This song for me is a hidden blues gem from Elvis Is Back album in the shadow of Reconsider Baby
Beatle Paul when reveiwing an Elvis single release in 1964 said Elvis singles, good or bad, would always be a hit, but he should go into the recording studio and do more songs like 'Like a Baby' as this was real blues done by Elvis, and the fans loved it.
I'm not a big blues fan (including some Elvis stuff), but I do like this one along with Reconsider Baby.
Fabulous song and done the Elvis way, thank goodness. 10 stars.
Top notch blues track that Elvis growls admirably. Every song on "Elvis Is Back!" had merit and the twelve songs as a whole make, in my opinion, one of the two or three best Elvis LP's of all time, and one of the greatest rock LP's of all time.
An absolutely fantastic blues track that has just about everything to make it perfect. The voice, the arrangement, the backing, the feel, what a song.
I wonder who plays the prominent acoustic guitar on this one, because neither Scotty Moore or Hank Garland are known for their acoustic playing. Scotty even hated it. But I don't think it's Elvis himself, although, you never know. I just love the blues and when Elvis is doing it, I love it even more. Great track.
Coupled with "Reconsider Baby" this song made a awesome blues pairing for "Elvis Is Back" I don't know what else to say other Elvis simply sings the h---- out of it.
I've always liked this Elvis blues song titled "Like A Baby" and Elvis' rendition of it was stellar. "Elvis Is Back" is a 12 song album and there are 11 songs on that album that I like more than "Like A Baby". All 12 of the songs from the "Elvis Is Back" album are excellent though.
This is from an exceptional LP & Elvis didn't do too many sorry to say, have to say glad the word's are here...I've been singing the wrong one's for years ha ha.Shame it's not played on the radio statiion's, it would surprise a lot of people of how good the man was.
Not giving any star's....can't enough star's for somthing this good !
Classic blues song from the successful Elvis Is Back L.P. Love it!
Presley was The King of Rock, and a Blues Master. GREAT!
One of Elvis' best! 5 stars isn't enough!
It's an ok blues tune but nothing to rave about to be honest from the "Elvis Is Back!" album in 1960. 47 years ago; hard to believe.
Relieved to read the correct lyrics. All this time I thought Elvis sang the line “Had to beat her like a baby.” Always worried me ha ha. Anyway the song grew on me over the years and now it’s matured like a fine wine. Pure delight in every aspect. 5 stars
