Are you sincere when you say I love you
Are you sincere when you say you love me too
Oh and are you really mine every day, all the time
I've gotta know which way to go
Will our love grow, are you sincere
Are you sincere when you say I love you
Honey, are you sincere when you say you love me too
And are you really mine every day, all the time
I've gotta know which way to go
Will our love grow, are you sincere

The best version was on the Our memories of Elvis album,no overdubbing. The spoken part makes the song.
Elvis does a great version of this old ballad and it was the 2nd song on the LP "Raised On Rock" (1973) after the title song. The "Our Memories Of Elvis" version is a little bit better, but both the original and the undubbed version are 4 star tracks.
Not bad, not great. Why couldnt Elvis find good NEW material for a whole LP?
Fair song sung well almost in his old style, but the LP was pretty poor.I think he was getting bored with the songs that were given to him.I think he had lost his way by this time, not entirely his own fault.
If Elvis wanted to revive old songs for an LP titled Raised On Rock, why couldnt it have been an old rock song? Make sense? I guess he wasn't into it. This is good but nothing to turn on a new generation of fans. Kind of old fashioned & stale for 1973.
not really a good song, and sung a bit unspired.
I like it, like a lot of songs on this album. His voice here sounds so good, also on the other ballads. 4 stars
This is a pretty ballad with nice spoken part. Don't like the ending with the voices though and not the top material that he should have been given in 1973, when he was the superstar in the world, confirmed with the massive success of Aloha from Hawaii in that same year. Three stars from me.
I've never liked Elvis' version of this song. I've always found Elvis' version to be boring and plain. The only version of this song that I've ever heard that I like is Andy Williams' hit version.
An occasional listener might think Elvis is going to sing Are you lonesome tonight when he starts to sing are you.... sincere. I like the song, but it sounds Elvis didn't have his heart in it.
Our man could sure put plenty of meaning into a ballad, with that rich tenor come baritone voice - yes I like this one - 4 stars from me
Certainly not great, but not bad either. Pleasant. I liked it then. I still enjoy it today. Song: 3 stars. I listen to the FTD version of the Raised On Rock LP frequently. LP: 4 stars.
This song never really "hit" me. The other ballads on the album were better imo. Until I heard the outtake as presented on Platinum, with that spliced ending bar. That's how it should have been on the album back then. So, to me, take 2 as on Platinum is the one I listen to!
For me it's a great song, I also really like the album
Definite 5-stars as far as I'm concerned.
