When no-one else can understand me
When everything I do is wrong
You give me hope and consolation
You give me strength to carry on
And you're always there to lend a hand
In everything I do
That's the wonder
The wonder of you
And when you smile the world is brighter
You touch my hand and I'm a king
Your kiss to me is worth a fortune
Your love for me is everything
I'll guess I'll never know the reason why
You love me like you do
That's the wonder
The wonder of you

Great song, great performance. Just love the background vocals on the guitar break.
One of my favourites, an eternal karaoke number for numerous ropey crooners but a great, great song. Love the Great Performances version. Just heard the original Ray Peterson version of this and it's a lovely slow ballad that really highlights the beautiful meloy this song has. Very nice. But I still prefer Elvis' ;)
This live performance is one of the best song releases of his entire career. The warmth, the power, the backing vocals, the instrumenatal break, and the grand finale make this unforgettable.
This is such a beautiful song and Elvis easily has the very best renditions of it. It's my 3rd most favorite Elvis song and it rightfully was a big hit for Elvis here in the United States back in 1970.
On some early versions you can hear Elvis singing the supposed background vocals too. The Sweet Inspirations and The Imperials didn't have their act together yet. A real showstopper this one. I love it.
Not only a big big hit in the Uk, but six weeks at no. 1 and the the biggest hit of the year. Was Elvis singing this as a thank you to us, his fans. 5 star recording.
The original picture sleeve of the 45-rpm single was clearly designed and intended to promote the flip side, Mama Liked The Roses, but The Wonder Of You proved to be more commercially appealing. The single was issued April 20, 1970, just 20 days before Mother's Day of that year.
Elvis was amazing in 1970 and it was showing here. The song is beautiful, and elvis delivered the song with power and conviction. It's a wonderful listen. 5 stars.
5-star performance; 2nd favorite only to "Walk A Mile In My Shoes", my all-time favorite live performance track.
The first version heard on the On Stage album still is the classic performance. He never bettered that one!
Strange that The Wonder Of You saved that single! Mama Like The Roses is a fine ballad, but I think it would have failed on it's own! How on earth could they screw it up on the E1 album back then??
