Words & Music: Jimmy Cassin Jim Morehead

Sentimental me
Guess I’ll always will be
So in love with you
Say you love me too
Sentimental me

Dreaming while I live
Living just to give
All my love to you
No one else will do
Sentimental me

Reaching for the moon
Wishing on the stars
On my honeymoon
I want to be where you are

Darling can't you see
It was meant to be
I'm in love with you
Say you love me too
Sentimental me

Darling can't you see
It was meant to be
I'm in love with you
No-one else will do

I think that the Something For Everybody album was a bit patchy, and I prefered the Marty Robbins version of this song

Good recording, the song and the Lp all blended well. Elvis at his relaxed best.

What a wonderful song and LP too (Something For Everybody). Elvis at his best.

Nice song from a pleasant album. I think of this LP as the in between album. In between greatness (Elvis Is Back) and mediocrity (Pot Luck). It was decent and enjoyable but not quite greatness. Elvis never sang better but the songs were not quite up to the former album.

Not a great song, but I like it. I haven't heard the Marty Robbins version, but I'm familiar with one by the Ames Brothers. I think of the "Something For Everyone" album as the beginnings of Elvis the "Balladeer Supreme." He would prefect that skill during the movie years. The ballads are why I am still a fan after all these years. As albums go though I prefer "Pot Luck" over "Something For Everybody."

I always liked this song. If flows so nice. Elvis Presley, In the early 60s, had the most perfect voice for ballads. From "Are you Lonesome Tonight" to "Can't Help Falling in Love" to "Surrender" and beyond. He made some of his best music, in this time period.

The song has a great flow. It defines easy listening. I like the concept of the LP, ballads one side, uptemp the other side. It wasnt Elvis Is Back for sure but was way better than the next LP.

A nice showcase for the beautiful, smooth flawless voice of Elvis Presley. The song itself is nice, but not great. Easy listening, definitely; a very mellow relaxing song, sung effortlessly by Elvis. Although Elvis always sounds like Elvis, I think you can see a touch of the Dean Martin influence on this track. And I mean that in the most positive way, towards both men.

Elvis is in perfect voice for this slightly uptempo ballad from the 1961 LP "Something For Everybody". An album that garnered critical praise when it was released, but has been somewhat dismissed by critics recently. It isn't quite as good as "Elvis Is Back", but it is a darn good album. 4 stars for the song, 4 1/2 stars for the LP.

I like it, i also like this album very much. His voice is great in the early 60's, but a fact is that it only became better,so this is not is vocal top. 4 stars.

Elvis at the top of his game.

I never actively seek out this song but find it an enjoyable enough ballad when played, however I prefer seven or eight songs from the album in front of this one. I find the Pot Luck album far more consistent and solid than Something for Everybody, but there are some incredible highlights on the latter.

This is such a magnificent song and it should definitely be way better known than it actually is. It's easily one of my most favorite Elvis songs and it's very unfortunate that this song wasn't a hit for Elvis. Elvis has so very many overlooked and underrated songs including this one.

Elvis also sang Send me some lovin' in Bad Nauheim in 1959. Maybe that one should be on this list also.

This one is on the first LP I ever bought in 1978, Seperate ways. Still like it.

This is actually one of my all-time favorites. A medium tempo, sort of shuffle rock song. Elvis sings it so sly, so slickly. Should have been a single release in my opinion.

I have always loved this one. Sly, half rocker, half ballad sung superbly with Elvis going up and down the register. Would have made a great single.

One of my favorites from Something For Everybody, it would have made a nice "B" side for a single. This song fits in nicely with the easy going rock style that was prevalent from most artists on the radio in the early 60's As someone already mentioned the LP had a nice concept with a ballad side and a rocker side. I actually like the next album Pot Luck even more with songs like Night Rider and Suspicion, but the early 1960's generally were very good for Elvis fans with quality releases.

Beautiful performance from Elvis. I always held Something For Everybody one of my favorite albums. Actually Sentimental Me was the B side to a EU single back then, c/w No More which actually went to #1 in Italy. #2 in Sweden and otherwise very popular in the EU back in the day!

I remember when I bought this album back in 1961 like it was yesterday. Side 1 was the ballad side and side 2 was the fast side if you will. Two songs which stood out to me were "Sentimental Me" and "I'm Coming Home"; more so, "I'm Coming Home" which I think could have been a hit single in the day but back in 1961, Elvis had such a wealth of superb music to sing and put out that it was limitless. "Sentimental Me" I always thought was one hell of ballad that in like manner could have been a single.

Elvis voice was totally superb around this time the material was sometimes questionable. Not one of my favourite tracks or albums, it was OK nothing more and not in the same league as Elvis is Back.
