All right
Well I'll be back, Yeah! I'll be back
Like a homesick train on a one-way track
I got to travel and hit the gravel
But I'll be back, Yeah! I'll be back
Yeah! I'll return, I shall return
Don't cool those lips, we're gonna see 'em burn
'Cause I'll be missin' your kinda kissin'
But I'll be back, Yeah, I'll be back
Yeah! There ain't nobody tell me stay or go, oh no
And no-one tells the four winds where to blow-ow-ow
I'll be back, I'm comin' back
Don't throw away that welcome mat
The door I'm hopin' will still be open a teeny weenie crack
To your shack
So keep that love light burnin', I'll be back
Yeah! There ain't nobody tell me stay or go, oh no
And no-one tells the four winds where to blow-ow-ow
I'll be back, I'm comin' back
Don't throw away that welcome mat
The door I'm hopin' will still be open a teeny weenie crack
To your shack
So keep that love light burnin', I'll be back
Yeah, I'll be back

A fine uptempo number used as the finale of the movie "Spinout" (1966). RCA and Colonel Parker thought enough of this song to send a promotional copy to Academy Awards with hopes of it being recognized as an Oscar winning song. It wasn't to be however. This song is one those happy songs that like many of his movie finale songs, that gets stuck in your head after you watch the movie. Along the lines of with "Didja Ever" from "G.I. Blues", "Happy Ending" from "It Happened At The World's Fair" and "There's A Brand New Day On The Horizon" from "Roustabout" Just plain fun.
I can easily imagine singers like Sinatra, Bobby Darin and Tony Bennett singing this type of number. The song is not that bad really but whether it was suitable for Elvis I remain unsure. Of course suitability never was an issue with these writers.
The best song from Spinout and the probably the best movie song from 1965-1967. Should have been a single. Little known and could be a hit yet today with the right remix & promotion.
I'll Remember You and All That I Am remain my favourite tracks from the iffy California Holiday soundtrack. This particular song is well down the list in comparison. But having said this, the song isn't too bad at all and merits more than zero marks.
A fun song and one of the better from the Spinout soundtrack. It would have been a better single as the title song Spinout, as it sticks into your head after listening to it after one time. Three stars from me.
I also like this song, including the movie version with the extra drum solo at the end. Could make a nice remix.
A great song for a Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. I love the organ on this song, but The Complete Recording Sessions book doesn't say who played it. Did Floyd Cramer play organ besides the piano? Anyway, a great song with a soaring guitar intro. The Spinout soundtrack was more rocking then usual, which isn't bad at all.
Same construction as How Can You Lose What You Never Had which is another late 60's film favourite of mine with that appealing laid back delivery. Not the best song on the album, and definitely not single material. but nonetheless an excellen track from a film album with plenty of oomph.
Spinout was a fresh breeze back in the day! It was actually one of my favorite soundtracks for a time. I'll Be Back is one of the better songs on that album. I also enjoyed Stop, Look And Listen, which I have looped for a longer playing time, Adam And Evil and Never Say Yes! (Never liked the front cover of that album though)
I've always liked this song immensely and I've never skipped it. I like every song from the "Spinout" soundtrack too. "Spinout" was the second of three movies that Shelley Fabares co-starred with Elvis.
Not exactly my cup of tea from a mediocre movie and soundtrack, "Spinout".
