Rating:
3.9 / 5

Words & Music: Doc Pomus Alan Jeffreys

Your lips, your eyes, your soft sweet sights
I feel that I've known you forever
Your style, your touch, you're just too much
I feel that I've known you forever

I know that this never happened to me
Don't have to see anymore than I see
Your face so rare, beyond compare
I feel that I've known you forever
And ever and ever

Don't know why but doesn't do it for me.

A short, but good ballad released on the LP "Pot Luck" in 1962. A 3 star, maybe 3 1/2 star track that is very well performed by Elvis. It should be noted the recording date for this song shows 3/19/61, but it was recorded in March of 1962.

Short but good. I like the sound of the recording and of Elvis' voice.

This song, from the album Pot Luck gets 5-Stars without hesitation from yours truly. Super song although short and definitely one of the top cuts in my opinion.

Nice song with Elvis' impeccable vocal.

Beautiful and tender vocal but for me slightly spoilt by the OTT backing.

A nice ballad, but nothing special.

A lovely ballad showing Elvis's voice to perfection but alas over too quickly. His tenor come baritone voice on Pot Luck was to my mind top notch, and this track builds to a powerful pseudo operatic finish.

This is such a beautiful ballad even though it contains just two verses. Elvis' rendition of it was spectacular. I've never skipped it. This is a 5 Star song for sure and Elvis' rendition of it is a 5 Star rendition too.
