Teddy Bear

Rating:
4.2 / 5

Words & Music: Kal Mann Bernie Lowe

Baby let me be,
your lovin' Teddy Bear
Put a chain around my neck,
and lead me anywhere
Oh let me be
Your teddy bear.

I don't wanna be a tiger
Cause tigers play too rough
I don't wanna be a lion
'Cause lions ain't the kind
you love enough.
Just wanna be, your Teddy Bear
Put a chain around my neck
and lead me anywhere
Oh let me be
Your teddy bear.

Baby let me be, around you every night
Run your fingers through my hair,
And cuddle me real tight

Perhaps the first Elvis record I ever bought, and still a favourite today, a great Rock 'n' roll classic from The King.

I love the segment in the picture Loving U...

This one was on my first ever Elvis LP. Brings back lovely memories of my childhood. It is likely that he got so many teddy bears as a result of this great classic. This is what Rock 'n' Roll is all about - apart from the musical style it contains so much fun. Moreover it is taken from one of his early movies which reflects a lot of the upliftment of the fifties. Obviously Elvis realised that it did and appealed to that sentiment when he included this great song in his performances in the seventies. And he was right to do so, as the fans wanted to relive this time while watching him in the present too.

Great song, impressive film, a young Elvis with so much potential.

A Rock'n'Roll masterpiece. One of my all time favorites in music. Long Live Elvis The Pelvis!

Elvis looking and sounding amazing in 1957. Stuff of legend...

While not one of my personal 50's favorites, it is nonetheless a classic in every sense of the word. A very short rock and roll track that is fun and delivered in style by Elvis.

A perfect slice of pop perfection!

The ultimate in pure pop from 1957's soundtrack "Loving You"; brings back memories but starts his decline from straight rock 'n roll to a more commercial stand as to his future recorded material.

This is such a splendid, fun, iconic, catchy, electrifying and unique song and Elvis' rendition from 1957 is easily the very best rendition of it. It rightfully was a #1 smash hit for Elvis here in the United States back then.

A classic in the musical portfolio of Elvis. The film sequence of this song in Loving You was sensational and will be a timeless representation of Elvis and rock 'n' roll.

The second pure pop song he recorded (All Shook Up being the first) and an excellent piece of catchy fluff it is; both as a recording and within the context of the actual movie "Loving You".

One off the authors said he would love to have heard Elvis do it as a ballad. That would've worked. I always play it like that on my guitar. Of course the demo was uptempo and that's what Elvis did. Great background vocals by the Jordanaires.

A fun, energetic soft rocker that is forever associated with Elvis. Perhaps musical fluff but Elvis makes it something special and a real classic.

Pure pop, Elvis was King here, Teddy Bear, Don't be Cruel, Good luck Charm, She's not You, His latest Flame, Burning Love to name a few. Returning to Teddy Bear, the film clip was one of the best, ageless. Has to be 5 stars.

Loved it when I was much younger. Have out grown it. Skip it often now. 3 stars.

Very well made teen pop for it's period, but a little bit too calculated - especially compared with a flawless milestone like don't be cruel (obviously the blueprint for this song). It's easy to the ears, a nice listen, nothing I'll ever skip, but that's it. 3 stars.
