Words & Music:
Arthur Crudup
My baby's long and tall,
She's like a cannonball.
Say, everytime she loves me,
Lordly, you can hear me squall.
She cried, Ooo-wee.
I believe I'll change my mind.
She said, "I'm so glad I'm living".
I cried, "I'm so glad you're mine".
My baby knows just how
To treat me right.
Gives me plenty loving
Morning, noon, and night.
She cried, Ooo-wee.
I believe I'll change my mind.
She said, "I'm so glad I'm living".
I cried, "I'm so glad you're mine".
When my baby does what she does to me,
I climb the highest mountain,
Dive in the deepest sea.
She cried, Ooo-wee.
I believe I'll change my mind.
She said, "I'm so glad I'm living".
I cried, "I'm so glad you're mine".
My baby's lips are red
And sweet like wine,
And when she kisses me,
I get high every time.
She cried, Oo-wee.
I believe I'll change my mind.
She said, "I'm so glad I'm living".
I cried, "I'm so glad you're mine".

Underrated 1956 track that is among Elvis' best recordings ever.
So Glad Your Mine is my favourite Presley track of all time, what a pity Elvis overlooked it later in the concert years
This is a faboulus recording. Very dynamic and full of soul. Gets overlooked
One of my favorites of all time & from my favorite Elvis LP. Shows what a truly great singer Elvis was and how his voice could do anything in 1956. Magical.
This is a very good song, is hardly ever played on radio, except maybe SIRUS (which I don't get). Elvis has a very nice delivery of this song.
One thing I have often wondered about is the sort of "scratch" during the instrumental which sounds very much like a needle skidding across the vinyl.
Geez, everybody seems to like that one...I personnally skip it most of the time !
It's Rock'nRoll perfection: The voice, the guitar, the piano. Outstanding!
One of the best vocals Elvis ever did. His voice was really soemthing in 1956.
One of those fabulous songs from the early years of Rock 'n' Roll. Unfortunately most people don't know this song. It shows how Elvis could do any style already back then. Wonderful combination of voice and band.
I wish Elvis would have sung this live, my favourite Elvis track ever.
I've never really cared for this song. Though I don't necessarily skip it when I play 'Elvis' (2nd album). Much prefer 'Anyplace Is Paradise'.
Great recording, Elvis combining Blues with a touch of Rock. I use to skip this track until an none Elvis fan pointed out how great it was and begged me to lend him my LP so that he could record it this track. It's now one of my top ten Elvis songs (none singles) from the '50s.
Yes one of his greatest recordings that does not seem to find its way on to that many compilations, which is sad as it should be heard by all. A combination of blues and rock and perhaps a touch of soul combine to make a masterpiece.
Arthur Crudup songs were perfect for Elvis. Great piano opening by Shorty Long. Absolutely great guitar solo by Scotty. Wonderful song.
This song was originally recorded back in the time and sessions for the first album and really doesn't quite fit on his second album. Although acceptable I think "Too Much" would have been a better lead off song for side 2 on his second "Elvis" album. An excellent song though.
This is such a fantastic song and Elvis' rendition of it was outstanding. Elvis' recording of this gem should definitely be far better known than it actually is. It's a true masterpiece of a recording for sure. The other songs that Elvis recorded that were written by Arthur Crudup were "That's All Right" and "My Baby Left Me".
In my all time top ten nudging for top place with Lawdy Miss Clawdy.Excellent, truly one of the greatest Rock N Roll songs of all time.IMHO
