Is your love darling just a mirage?
From the distance, you call to me like an oasis
Though your kisses, keep drawing me near
Is your love a mirage that will disappear?

Like a man in the desert, I'm lost
Is this dream just a trick of my imagination
Though I thirst for your lips, night and day
Is your love a mirage that will fade away?

How I pray, heaven answered my prayer
When I reach out for you, You'll be there
In the search for my love will be through
Like a dream a mirage, will come true
How I pray, heaven answered my prayer
When I reach out for you, You'll be there
In the search for my love will be through
Like a dream a mirage, will come true

A mirage, a mirage, a mirage

"Can't Help Falling In Love", "Pocketful Of Rainbows", "Young And Beautiful", "Don't Ask Me Why", "Loving You", "Love Me Tender", "They Remind Me Too Much Of You", "Puppet On A String", "All That I Am", "Please Don't Stop Loving Me", "Today, Tomorrow And Forever", "You Don't Know Me", "The Girl I Never Loved" and "Almost" are just some of the best movie ballads from Elvis' movies. Beautifully sung, well written and for the most part well produced. This song from "Harum Scarum" is easily one of the three worst movie ballads (along with "Kismet" from the same movie and "One Boy, Two Little Girls" from "Kissin' Cousins").

Fits perfectly in time and moment our man’s career: Elvis was, by then already crossing the desert in all senses, so he had another of those awful mirages, provided by a team of rubbish makers, that kept misguiding him. P.S. I was always unable to see that movie till the end… wonder why…

Don't really care for it and really don't care for the movie....... a stinker!!. If you want a great song from the movie.... Yet So Far (From Paradise).

Just plain awful. I was very upset upon hearing this soundtrack in the pivotal year 1965. Even the title is childish. Once again, the 2 bonus songs are the only worthy songs on the LP.

Elvis at an all time low. This song, the soundtrack & the film. Not even worth one star.

As one reviewer said at the time, he was pitching his movies to an audience of chimpanzees. Depressing movie and soundtrack even the much overrated So Close, Yet So Far From Paradise, a very cliched ballad in my opinion.

I absolutely cannot sit through the movie--it might be my least favorite of all Elvis' movies--but it is an interesting soundtrack to me. Elvis sounds great throughout and there are a lot of sounds and instruments used that almost make it psychedelic. (OK, I know that is not really true exactly. I sometimes find it easier to take the bad soundtrack albums if I imagine there was no movie and this is just a very very weird psychedelic concept album, about life in the desert.... It's a bit of a stretch. lol)

At the end of the song Elvis is being told in the movie that he is in the garden of paradise. Unfortunately that is not true for his fans watching this movie and listening to this song! The sad part is that Elvis was reportedly very excited about this movie upfront, thinking that he would have a Rudolph Valentino kind of role. I'm sure that excitement was gone after a few days on the set and listening to the demos of the songs offered. This ballad is surprisingly not brought with the usual Elvis magic that makes even a worse ballad a joy to listen to. Two stars from me.

This was just money for Parker.....end of. Lost EAP alot of fans I think. Even in the UK it came under the tent as Harem Holiday, this was no holiday for him or us. Spinout Was the same, the American producer's thought we wouldn't understand the title so that called it California Holiday ?? but at least it was a much better film & soundtrack.

Mirage is a beautiful balled sang in a very tender way by Elvis. It has subtle and serene instrumentation. Elvis in pure sixties voice singing a simple yet pretty track from a movie. Mirage ... A pretty song with fine vocals by Elvis something along the lines of "Never Ending" or "Love Me Tonight".

This is indeed a beautiful song with that tender soulful intimate delivery he employed on these types of ballad. As I have said on a few occasions, the addition of echo pushes the impact of these soundtrack songs up a notch.

Elvis sings this perfect. Too bad the song isn't.

The album and movie were both dire. The soundtrack sounded as if Elvis ingested a cup full of downers for each song.On top of this the production on the album was terrible too.All in all a bad time for we Elvis fans who'd been there since 1956, the glory days. This song to be honest is no better or worse than a score of similar songs he recorded for those piss poor movies.

I still get goosebumps when I hear this beautiful love song.

In my opinion, this is such a beautiful love song and Elvis' rendition of it was splendid. I've never skipped it. I've always liked all of the songs from the "Harum Scarum" soundtrack album. I really like the middle-eastern flavor that the tracks from this 1965 movie soundtrack album have too. Every track from this soundtrack album will always be a welcome addition of Elvis' music catalog. This soundtrack album is totally unlike anything else that Elvis had ever recorded.

As chance would have it I listened to the soundtrack a couple of days ago. Overall soundtrack: 3 stars. Song: 3 stars.

The movie is bad but I think the soundtrack is criminally underrated. This song is beautiful and well sung. Love the middle eastern flavor to it.

Good soundtrack, not so good movie. That's my thoughts.

This soundtrack is not that bad and I actually quite like most of the songs including this one. I enjoy the eastern flavour.
