Let's Be Friends

Rating:
3.9 / 5

Words & Music: David Martin Geoff Morrow Chris Arnold

Don't be afraid, you and I were made the same little one
And I know what it's like when you feel left out of the game little one
But if you take this helping hand that I lift
Then we can smile together, let's be friends

The world that you see may seem to be a mystery to you
The night may be dark but hope very hard and dreams can come true
You live in silence but for once let's pretend
We're talking here together, let's be friends

You're not alone, I've always known that we'd get along
And someone I know says life is good and He can't be wrong
There's fun and laughter just waiting round the bend
Let's find them now together, let's be friends

Let's find them now together, let's be friends

This is a nice song. Should have deserved better than to be released on a Camden!

Yes excellent number little known too which is a pity.

A song recorded for; but not included in the movie "Change of Habit". A pleasant song that Elvis sings with a rich deep voice. 3 1/2 stars

A pleasant little ditty nicely sung by Elvis. I like it a lot. 3 1/2 stars.

Really good song, and Elvis is in great voice! Melody and lyrics flow very good! This is a good example of how many great songs our man recorded that didn't get the play or recognition that it deserved! Anyhow, he is still The King, And making more and more fans every year! Nuff said!! TCB!!!

For me this is just an album filler. True it's sung with the smoky soulful voice Elvis had in 69 which helps lift the overall quality of the track but is this really all that better than some of the bland ballads he had recorded for the movies? I'm not so sure and I rarely listen to it. The piano starts to get on my nerves after a while if i do.

Elvis could do no wrong in 1968 & 1969. He sounded and looked amazing. The song, "Let's be Friends" is a beautiful simple gentle song, that Elvis sings with passion, and soul, and it works. Its a feel good song.

Nicely sung and yes it is better than the mid 60's movie ballads. Much better. What happened to his great simple soulful ballad voice by 1973? It seemed to be replaced by an operatic bombastic ballad voice. The breath control & unstrained vibrato here is fabulous and not eveident after 1973.

A lovely simple ballad with a beautiful tune sung by Elvis in his relaxed tender style. Sure we had others of this type but I never get tired of listening to them. - 4 stars from me.

This song is take 3 and a work-part ending, whatever that means. A good song, sung very well. Nothing wrong with it.

Nice, polite light ballad that Elvis doses as much with as anyone could. Worth a listen now and again, but not much more.

Nice song, better than some mid 60's stuff, but I don't understand what the song is about. Is he singing it to a baby, a blind girl, or deaf? Any one care to comment?

I've always felt that the song was written for a scene that wasn't used/ filmed/ whatever between Elvis and the young child seen in the film. I believe her character's name was Amanda.

I've always liked this song since I first heard it. I still play Let's Be Friends. Pity the scene never appeared in the film. I've always stated that Elvis' later soundtrack songs were better. Both in quality of songs and not least well sung by Elvis. He showed interest again. Compare Easy Come Easy Go, Double Trouble and Clambake soundtracks to those which followed. Let's Be Friends gets 4/5 from me!

It was an amazing miracle how Elvis discovered the cure for autism in "Change of Habit"!!

I love the whole COH soundtrack (I know it wasn’t included in the movie) and wish we had the outtakes. Beautiful song and sung with such tenderness. 4 stars
