It's impossible to tell the sun to leave the sky,
It's just impossible.
It's impossible to ask a baby not to cry,
It's just impossible.
Can I hold you closer to me
And not feel you going through me,
But the second that I never think of you?
Oh, how impossible.
Can the ocean keep from rushing to the shore?
It's just impossible.
If I had you could I ever ask for more?
It's just impossible.
And tomorrow, should you ask me for the world
Somehow I'd get it, I would sell my very soul
And not regret it for to live without your love
Is just impossible
Can the ocean keep from rushing to the shore?
It's just impossible.
If I had you could I ever ask for more?
It's just impossible.
And tomorrow, should you ask me for the world
Somehow I'd get it, I would sell my very soul
And not regret it for to live without your love
Is just impossible
Oh impossible,
Impossible.

A nice live rendition of the Perry Como hit that found it's way onto the 1973 LP "Elvis". I can understand some Elvis fans not being big fans of him singing this kind of a song; but I enjoy it.
After a terrible intro, a moving song is what follows. Beautiful lyrics, beautifully sung.
Good song which Elvis does justice too. Much prefer this sort of thing than Olivia newton John numbers.
This is such a beautiful song and all of Elvis' renditions of it were fantastic. I like Elvis' renditions and Perry Como's renditions of this gem equally.
I love the orchestral backing and the atmosphere created by this live recording. Perry Como delivered a great performance, and Elvis matches him all the way with this effort - its not rock but I like it a lot.
I must admit that I was surprised to see this song on the tracklist of the ELVIS album back then. Even more suprised how good Elvis' rendition was and still remain. Then again, strange he didn't do this one more often!
This is an all-time, all-around favorite of mine and I love the arrangement he does, recorded live.
Elvis does a great job on this song. 4 and a half stars. Hey! Nothing wrong with a little ONJ on the set list.
~ As already mentioned, Elvis' fine rendition of this song first appeared on his retail album titled "ELVIS" in 1973. However, it's very strange and odd that it was chosen by the heads at RCA to be a track on the 1975 Elvis album "PURE GOLD".
Highly rate this beautiful song and prefer Elvis version. The Feb 72 season in Vegas was excellent and very tight. Clearly Elvis was looking at moving more heavily towards the big ballad sound with the introduction of Its Over, American Trilogy, Mountain and It’s Impossible. 4 stars
