Is this train the Frankfort Special
Now ain’t this outfit something special
Well, we heard rumors from the bases
Frankfort girls got pretty faces
Go, Special go. Blow whistle, blow
Frankfort Special’s got a special way to go
Whao - oh - oh
Now when we get to our headquarters
We’ll be good boys and follow orders
Now don’t take girls from one another
No! No! No! No! No!
We’ll treat a sailor like a brother
Go, Special go. Blow whistle, blow
Frankfort Special’s got a special way to go
Whao - oh - oh
Round wheels singin’ on a long flat track
Boiler bustin’ to blow its stack
Towns and villages flyin’ by
Farewell frauleins, don’t you cry
You’ll soon get another G.I.
Come on, train, and get the lead out
Well, one more day we gotta sweat out
Frantic frauleins at the station
They’re ready for a celebration
Go, Special go. Blow whistle, blow
Frankfort Special’s got a special way to go
Go, Special go. Blow whistle, blow
Frankfort Special’s got a special way to go
Whao - oh - oh
Come on, train, and get the lead out
Well, one more day we gotta sweat out
Frantic frauleins at the station
They’re ready for a celebration
Go, Special go. Blow whistle, blow
Frankfort Special’s got a special way to go
Whao - oh - oh
Whao - oh
Whao - oh, whao - oh, whao - oh, whao - oh, whao - oh,
Whao - oh, whao - oh, whao - oh

Fun, especially the 5th gear version, but not great song.
Did somebody say "Mystery Train"?
This is a fun and energetic track from Elvis' 5th movie "G.I. Blues". The scene in the movie where Elvis sings this song riding the train is a great one and on vinyl the track is entertaining. 3 1/2 stars.
A pretty song: fit for this soundtrack.
Not the greatest song, but a fun one to hear. It beats a lot of the movie songs that were to follow.
This song always seemed to me like rock and roll meets Broadway. Sounds like a show tune but with a rock and roll beat. I like it. GI Blues as a whole was one of the better 60's soundtracks along with Viva Las Vegas and I can still actually sit through the whole album. . The others, I cant listen to anymore except on a best of movies compilation.
Watered down Hollywood version of "Mystery Train". Of note: "Frankfort special" and "Mystery Train", mix well together !
In the DJ world thats called "BPMS". Frankfort Special is a fun movie song, that works nicely in the movie.
Especially the fast version is great. A hint of Mystery Train can be heard. Best song from GI Blues.
G.I. Blues was a very strong soundtrack album with nearly every song a winner in my book. This track moves along with joyous energy and gusto but is possibly surpassed by the very fast and crazily frantic take 13 - 4 stars from me.
The writer misspelled the song title!! Should be FRANKFURT SPECIAL (as in Frankfurt, Germany) . . .
not Frankfort (as in Frankfort, Kentucky).
Other than the misspelling, I like the song a lot.
Elvis looks so cool singing this song. I love it!
An album and film that rekindles memories from my childhood when I first saw GI Blues on it's initial release in the UK.Always loved both the film and soundtrack and this song especially. One of the few soundtracks I still listen too and enjoy..A good uptempo song which suits the situation well.
It's a great song. In the movie, Elvis seems very un-Elvis when he stands up to wail Whao - oh - oh.
This is such a great Elvis movie song and it's always been so very much fun to listen to as well. I rate this uptempo 1960 movie song a perfect five out of five stars and I rate Elvis' renditions of it a perfect five out of five stars too.
Fun indeed. Especially the Cafe Europe versions
Fun song, both the master and the fast version
Fun song, both the master and the fast version, 4 stars for both versions
