Ev'ry man, has a flaming star
A flaming star, over his shoulder
And when a man, sees his flaming star
He knows his time, his time has come
Flaming star, don't shine on me, flaming star
Flaming star, keep behind me, flaming star
There's a lot of livin' I've got to do
Give me time to make a few dreams come true
Flaming star
When I ride, I feel that flaming star
That flaming star, over my shoulder
And so I ride, front of that flaming star
Never lookin' around, never lookin' around
Flaming star, don't shine on me, flaming star
Flaming star, keep behind me, flaming star
There's a lot of livin' I've got to do
Give me time to make a few dreams come true
Flaming star
One fine day, I'll see that flaming star
That flaming star, over my shoulder
And when I see, that old flaming star
I'll know my time, my time has come
Flaming star, don't shine on me, flaming star
Flaming star, keep behind me, flaming star
There's a lot of livin' I've got to do
Give me time to make a few dreams come true
Flaming star

An ok song from a great movie...maybe his best movie.
For my opinion another movie song Elvis would have earned an Grammy as the Best Movie song for.
Very well sung title song for Elvis' 6th movie. A departure of sorts for Elvis in 1960 as he gets to sing a dramatic song not about love or lost love. Good lyrics, good production and Elvis make this one a four star song.
Good song from a very good film.
Elvis's voice is superb on this number and on the other songs from the Flaming Star sessions. Its timbre is slightly different from that heard on any other sessions but is perfect for the title song in particular. Perhaps the only criticism of the number could be the excess repetition of the words "Flaming Star". Eight years later, the title song of "Charro!" was equally well performed and demonstrated yet again the tremendous versatility of Elvis and his ability to 'inhabit' a song.
I rank "Flaming Star" among the top 5 movies songs by Elvis. Well sung and a contrast from the usual theme of lost or troubled love. A five star song!
Certainly a great vocal on this one, but the song is just OK. It wasnt gonna win any awards.
Yes a very good vocal on a better than average movie song, but I prefer Charro if comparing the two songs.
The title song of one of Elvis his best movies (together with Jailhouse rock, King creole and Viva Las Vegas). Note that his best movies also have great title songs, including this one, although it would go too far for me to recognize Flaming Star as one of his very best recordings of his whole career. Four stars from me.
great song for the movie captures the tone of the film perfectly.one of the best title songs he ever did and i agree that vocally charro was great but the film it's self quite weak.five stars for song and film.i rate this as one of my all time westerns.
A real good song, from a Great Movie.
Title song of one of Elvis his best movies. Elvis colors his voice dark given the year and delivers a convincing performance with the right touch of drama. A masterful recording like many recordings in 1960, beyond doubt one of the greatest recording years of his entire career. Four stars from me.
The song that changed my life. Just hearing Him sing 'Every Man...' did it & I became a fan on the spot, instantly.
Great,i love it. I also like "Black Star" 4 stars
Fine title song with a Native American beat that led an EP to number 14 in the Billboard charts. One of the best title songs from his film career, it is a song that I never tire of, and deserves to be on more compilations than it is.
This is such a spectacular, fun and catchy song and it's easily one of my most favorite Elvis songs from the 1960's.
As years went on (some 35 I reckon), I kinda got bored with this one. Might happen, you know.
Nothing to rave about to be blunt. The film was better than the songs recorded. 3-stars
I've always liked it. Haven't grown tired of it after all these years. 3 stars.
I never saw the movie or heard the song until the Flaming Star, Camden LP. That was the song! But, it took years until I finally saw the film. I like the song, I like the movie! But, I must admit, the song hasn't aged well. But, that's the way it is....I don't skip it!
Undoubtedly one of the best title tunes to any of Elvis's films. Five stars all the way.
Undoubtedly one of the best Elvis movie title songs. Why it didn't get nominated for a Best Movie Song Oscar award is beyond me. It's literally a five-star track all the way.
