Beyond the Bend

Rating:
3.6 / 5

Words & Music: Ben Weisman Fred Wise Dolores Fuller

Breeze sing a happy song
This heart of mine is singing right along
Don't know where I'm going
Don't know where it ends
Till the grass is greener, beyond the bend

I haven't got a care
I'm just on my way to anywhere
Pocketful of nothing, nothing I can spend
Hope the grass is greener, beyond the bend

Beyond the bend,
Perhaps there'll be somebody waiting who's right for me
So I got to move around
And I know I've got to cover ground
Oh the trip is shorter when you got a friend
Gotta find that rainbow beyond the bend

Beyond the bend, beyond the bend

Not a great song, not a bad song.I'll always listen to it.

Enjoyable, yet breezy tune recorded for the movie "It Happened At The World's Fair" (1963) and used over the opening credits. Not overly memorable, but a solid three star effort.

Infections uptempo number from an indifferent film. Not really hit single material but if the soundtracks had maintained this standard the movies would have been able to live with.

A nice "smooth" song that flows beautifully. Elvis sings it great !

Not a bad number or film for that matter. They both came just before the rot set in.Elvis ' voice indicated he was happy singing this kind of stuff for the time being.

One of the better, if not best song from the movie "It Happened At The World's Fair"; a very short soundtrack of ill repute; but I like it anyway...

Beyond the bend Perhaps there will be Fun in Acapulco waiting for me

A nice breezy tune with Elvis singing out and appearing to enjoy the experience. To me it has charm, and is pleasant enough, but the average backing makes it an inferior Follow That Dream

This has the same intro as Almost always trye, from 1961. A lovely tune.

This is such a tremendous, breezy, underrated and overlooked song and I've never skipped it. It's always such a joy to listen to. Elvis' rendition of this gem was stellar. It's from my second most favorite Elvis movie "It Happened At The World's Fair".

Nice little track, but like the LP, short. Could have been a smash #1 if RCA had included. Good luck Charm, Anything that's part of You, Shes not You & Just tell her Jim said Hello. These ex single songs were no longer selling and at the time not available on any album. They would have made the album great value and fitted in with the soundtrack songs.

The sound is bad, the song is unoriginal, generic and boring.

A great soundtrack that I often listen to. This is a happy little number that feels right at home with the soundtrack. Nothing spectacular but certainly not boring.

Once again, the great early 60's voice being wasted on worthless material. He breezes through this but its the first soundtrack that really disappointed me. The songs and the films would get worse though.
