I'll be a strong as a mountain,
Or weak as a willow tree,
Anyway you want me,
That's how I will be.
I'll be a tame as a baby,
Or wild as the raging sea,
Anyway you want me,
That's how I will be.
In your hand my heart is clay,
To take a mold as you may.
I'm what you make me, you've only to take me,
And in your arms I will stay.
I'll be a fool or a wise man,
My darling you hold the key,
Yes, anyway you want me,
That's how I will be,
I will be.

His voice. great song, great arrangement. great music. What more to say
Super ballad from the 50's. Great performance.
One of his best 50's ballads, like it a lot better than its A-side!
The intro is incredible! The song pure magic!
This is such a superb song and Elvis' rendition of it was stellar. It's one of seventeen songs that Elvis recorded that was written by Aaron Schroeder.
A wonderful ballad sung with enormous presence and atmosphere
Elvis sings "take and hold as you may", but it had to be "take and mould". A good ballad, but the instrumentation is rather stiff.
Considering the distortion with the recording of this song I still give it 5-Stars. One has to remember we're in 1956 and Elvis and The Jordanaires were recorded up too close at the microphone by RCA. A song which should have rated better but considering "Love Me Tender" was the hit and flip side, no surprise here. A classic.
One of a handful of overlooked gems that appeared on the flipside of gigantic hits in the 50's. "I Was The One", "Playing For Keeps", "My Wish Came True" and this one are truly great ballads that Elvis sings as only he could. These are songs are as good and in some cases better than the A-sides. Elvis does say "hold" instead of "mold" but that doesn't change the power and passion of the performance. 5 stars for this one and the three songs listed above.
Strangely enough I played it yesterday for the first time in many years.A good song and exceptional performance, there weren't many bad songs from Elvis in the 1950s
To say that ``Any way you want me`` is quite dated is an understatement. Still, it is one of the gems on Elvis`Golden Records (volume one).
This song is a true gem and I've never skipped it while listening to any Elvis CD that it appears on.
The other sixteen songs that Elvis recorded that were co-written by Aaron Schroeder were "A Big Hunk O' Love", "Apron Strings", "Dixieland Rock", "Don't Leave Me Now", "First In Line", "Good Luck Charm", "Got A Lot O' Livin' To Do", "I Got Stung", "I Was The One", "In Your Arms", "It's Now Or Never", "Santa, Bring My Baby Back (To Me)", "Shoppin' Around", "Stuck On You", "Young And Beautiful" and "Young Dreams".
One of the greatest early ballad. Charming and convincing. 5 stars.
Great song. Wonderful vocal. A 50's song I haven't grown tired of.
