One of the few great '70s albums? How about: ON STAGE, TTWII, I'm 10,000 Years Old-Elvis Country, As Recorded at MSG, Aloha From Hawaii, Promised Land, Today and even Moody Blue? Some might add Ernst' '99 "should have been" album "Burning Love." Elvis is the '70s is still under-rated -apparently among even some fans.

I agree with Greg Nolan. The 70s saw some of Elvis' best stuff. "Promised land" is one of his very best albums, too. This is a strong performance by Elvis. I wish he would've been this good on the Aloha-concert. He sings some new songs and some that we hadn't heard him play live before. The rock-medley is great and a cool idea because this way we don't have to hear a complete "Hound dog"-performance, which, by this time, sucked mostly. The version of "How great thou art" on this album, won him his third grammy award. Overall this is just a great show, it's not '69 but imo even better, though shorter, than the '72 Madison Square Garden-concerts. It's also interesting to note that after "He touched me" and the Christmas-album, all of his albums, except "Today" but including this live-record, where recorded in Memphis (I don't count the CBS-Special soundtrack).
The only thing that disturbes me is the fake-audience. It surely wasn't necessary to put them on an Elvis-album as the real audience was wild enough. That's why it only gets 4 stars from me.
