Just recieved mine, and it is GREAT,GREAT,GREAT !! Never have I gotten so much value for my money ; an 8" beautiful package with 2 CDs and 1 DVD stylishly inserted in a fold out digipack, togheter with a 50 page booklet with some of the best pictures I have ever seen in a product like this. On top of that really interesting essay and remastered sound on both shows, that especially has improved the evening show (I couldn´t believe my own ears), if you havn´t bought this one yet, go (no, RUN) down to the nearest record shop and get it, and buy one for everyone that doubt the fact that Elvis is worthy of being called THE KING, then, now and forever !! I have been trying to hack the Elvis news site so I could change the 5 star rating, and give it 10.

I disagree. I haven't listened to both albums completely yet, but the mix makes the Evening show sound 'wrong'. If you compare them to the Legacy edition or even the original, you'll see what I mean. Notably All Shook Up. The back up singers are almost inaudible in this version.

I just listen to the two versions of the evening show again (the old one "Elvis as recorded at MSG" from 1991 mastered by Dick Baxter, and the new one " Prince from ..." from 2012 mixed by Michael H. Brauer). Now I am not an expert, or have the most advanced equipment to listen on, but when I play the two shows (shifting the CDs every one song to compare) I most defenetly hear a big different ; first of all Elvis voice sound much stronger on Prince and therefor more awake and a lot more powerfull, second, I hear better separation between the Instruments, third, the audience is also louder and that makes them sound more enthusiastic and give more of a concert feel, and fourth, the sound is much clearer. I wont say that I am right about this matter, because there might be reasons for the sound different that I am not aware of ; there might be a newer release of the old CD that I don´t know about, or my sound system is not advanced enough. Maybe other listeners can help us with there view on the subject ?

My copy arrived yesterday, first thought was how great the packaging looked, the best for a very long time, it reminded me of the old days and the Legendary Performer LP series. I had high hopes for the DVD but in the back of my mind thought it may just be a bit of padding but no it certainly isn't padding, really nice job and I believe with a lot of thought behind it. I have no doubt that there will be many discussions on the sound quality but for me both shows sound better than I've heard before, perhaps the afternoon show may be a little heavy on the echo but the evening show sounds beautifully clear and sharp. Back in '72 this album was a real favorite of mine and remained so for many years, it is now a great pleasure to have this upgraded copy in my collection. Don't even think about it just buy it. Thanks Sony you've done a real good job on this one.

Woody you will be disappointed as can be, my friend ! They sell at the most 2.500 copies of each new FTD release, it seems. Bootleggers do better ! And here I follow and agree with you a lot when you call some of those so-called managers, incompetent people with no feel for business goals, profits or success. Sure there are many more of us, thinking the same way. Have a look at the latest Prince of another Planet Video FTD which is so badly produced...very amateuristic while they could have made a jewel out of it. Now the TV stations around the world won't even show it because you only see Elvis on stage at Mad Sq Garden only for ...seconds not even minutes ! So poor, man. Unbelievable !! A slap in the face of all fans, indeed.

But why have the DVD with blackness where there is no footage? it should've been presented only video footage. Or the hour long show with pictures here there is no footage. Plus I'm not liking how the CDs are held in the package. Sort difficult to get them out.

I hate bright, modern remixes and I have no interest in the DVD. I'm giving this product 4 stars because the musical content of the concerts is very good, but I'd never buy this release.
