Good song selection, but I already own "Tomorrow is a Long Time" (1999) and "So High" (2004). Maybe if the alternate takes reveal something new I might buy this album.

daviddoelen: I also own the releases you mention, but in the world of remastered sound they're ancient. Especially "Tomorrow Is A long Time." Viv Anesini will work wonders on these tunes. Besides I can sell my old releases for much more than they're worth to some poor sap on Ebay ala "Colonel" Parker.

I originally was probably the first or second reviewer on this FTD CD when it was initially announced and although I see the powers that be deleted my review, I will change my completely negative review to at least an average upgrade as to review. It's only when one gets to the 1967 sessions that I noticed a big improvement in sound quality. Most of this material was issued aka spread out over many, many years on various incarnations of CD's. It's not my favorite span in Elvis' career, but when one considers he and his management were completely out of touch with the reality of what was going on music-wise, it's no wonder, he got passed over. It's a shame, because FTD, in issuing another "what if" album puts things in a much, much better light. Other than the songs "Mine" and "Down In The Alley", I rather enjoy this FTD issue. Sorry for the initial crappy review guys; hopefully there are better FTD issues on the way.
