Firstly, the tracklist shown is for Gold Vol. 3. Secondly, does this re-release feature the original 12 song tracklist, or is it the later 18 song version? 3 stars if it's 12 tracks. 4 stars if it's 18.

not the right track listing here but still one of the greatest golden records releases. volume 5 is the best but at the same time the saddest since it covers the years 1968-1977. this covers 1963-1967. volume 3 was 1960-1962 and volume 2 1957-1959 and volume 1 1956.

Well, "Mystery," many of us have argued for years that Elvis' album catalog was and is classic and should not be joked around with via phony new titles like "Viva Las Vegas "(2007), or "Love, Elvis" and "Ultimate Gospel," and umpteen other Yule and hit re-packages. Consider this a chance to upgrade the sound to 2007 standards (it's been almost ten years for this release) and a chance to keep a title in print. After all, he's not recording anything new. All we can ask for is for his catalog to remain in print (but in forward-thinking upgrades) and for them to continue to empty the vaults, be it the main label, or more likely, FTD. I very much enjoyed this rather misleadingly entitled "Golden Records" release when I first got it some 20 years ago.
