I will buy it that´s for sure. 3 concerts, two of them never had been released on soundboard before. One thing: is the cover photo a fake, mixed with photos from different years ? The body shot is from 1976, but take a look at the face of Elvis and his side burns, they aren´t definitly not from 1976 but from 1974 or even 1975.

3 good shows from summer '76; August was more difficult...

Gladyslove I agree with you regarding the cover photo. I doesn’t appear to be a 76 face as his sideburns were much larger in 76. Looking at the light and shadows, It’s probably that the original was either overexposed or too dark and so they had to find a similar position of the head to match the really good 76 body shot.

I hate this fake stuff. This is a collectors label. It's supposed to bring the stuff that is not so mainstream. And I have to say that I'm not so mentally unstable that I couldn't handle a real 1976 photo. I will buy it but half of the fun is gone knowing I get another fake cover. Ernst, please stop altering music and photos. I think it's terrible that everybody thinks he has to tinker around with what Elvis has left us. Seems like we have to be ashamed about what Elvis did or how he looked. Seems like there MUST be a photoshop picture or some PC made overdub to make his work attractive nowadays.

I was waiting for the FTD release of the 07.05.1976 show. However, I think the three CDS box should be the three shows in memphis (74, 75 and 76)

Yoshi, I agree with you, the art was horrible. Maybe they change the art

Curious to hear the Memphis show. I wonder if it's as good as the Fort Baxter release. As for the picture it looks like it's from '76.

Walter, the body shot is from 1976 but not his face. The sideburns 1976 were different to the year before, not like this photo wants us to believe. This is a fake.

As I said in my first post, I don’t think the cover was altered to make Elvis look better, they’ve released many 76 projects with correct photos from the era. I believe they chose this shot because the posture and body looks excellent but the face was either too dark or over exposed and the best suitable shot to replace the head was this one. Ernst wants to create good covers (although bootlegs mostly create better artwork and original titles) and is not interested in faking and fooling around. He knows his audience are knowledgeable in Elvis matters. I already own the Memphis concert so I’ll wait for reviews on the sound of the other two shows.

Gladyslove, if you look at the cover of Tucson '76 the face & sideburns are identical to this cover.

Gladyslove is right. I just saw the picture of the week with Elvis in Huntsville on June 1st where he wears the silver Phoenix suit and kneels down to talk with a fan. From this pic they took the head.

FTD tries to show Elvis with the best physique but the fans don't care. We love Elvis for who he is! And I still don't understand why the family is opposed to releasing more soundboard shows from 1977 (when they are almost all recorded on soundboard). They accepted for the movie "Elvis" that we see him playing "Unchained Melody" on June 21, 1977 in Rapid City, 5 days before his last concert. They take the fans for fools... why not have released "Elvis In Concert" on FTD with the sound cleaned up for the Omaha concert on June 19, 1977 when it was released on CD 30 years ago by BMG on the occasion of the release of all the albums on CD? The 1977 concerts are of better quality than those of July-August 1976 and that does not pose any problem for them apparently...

I would also add that in the home video version of the documentary This is Elvis there are some clips that were not released in the theatre version. Also, some songs were remastered for the Silver Box cd release.

I have it....and I like it....its 1976 and 3 fine shows with southern audience going nuts..the sound is great...the pack too.
