Elvis 68 Comeback Special BluRay Promo clips: Out next week on November 30th the new "Definitive" 50th Anniversary Box Set.
While the CD content will already be in most hard-core Elvis fan's collections many will be buying the set once again for the brand new "HD" quality 2 Blu-ray discs.
While fans have to remember that the original footage was all shot on regular NTSC 525 line standard definition, hopefully the Blu-Ray upgrade can make it shine like never before.
The newly-restored Blu-ray video was also overseen by Thom Zimny (producer of The Searcher HBO release)
Don't care. I've got all the '68 Special stuff I need.
Jerry, this is not for you but to fans who are new and want this kind of release. If the blu ray is in better quality then the DVD release years ago I think twice if I buy it again only for the better quality. But 100 Euro is way too much for the blu rays I want.
The smartest way to aim this product at new fans would've been to package the Blu-ray discs separately from the audio CDs in order to keep the cost more reasonable. As it is, the $100+ price tag on this set will be too high for many.
Hmm not a massive jump in picture quality, just noticable in places. Standard definition on an HD format. Bordello scene back in but It Hurts Me still cut even though its listed in the booklet as part of the road medley! I'm disappointed the directors cut wasn't included, I should have known better than to hope. Nice booklet but is it all worth the price? I'm not feeling the excitement at all for this than i had for the 2008 deluxe dvd set.
