At the same time a vinyl version (2LP) of the Jailhouse Rock release will see the light of day.
I only have one of these shows so far, so maybe i'm going to buy this set at some point. I think the title wnml doesn't work for a live set.
Two good shows from 1972. I really hope that the sound has been improved. ‚What now my love‘ as title works very fine for a live set, because Elvis sang it only live. I am looking forward. Very strong front cover.
2 outstanding shows...released before on At Full Blast and Hot August Night...Elvis was great in '72...and he was here.
Love the cover art.
Just what I need. More versions of the mostly same beat to death song list. I'll save my money for something I feel more in need of.
Alright !!! From just about my favourite Vegas season because Elvis is really in consistently strong form. So too is the sound. In spite of the peak distortion hear and there the quality of theses soundboards really crackles. The August 11 M.S I reckon is the seasons best with Lovin' Feeling and Polk Salad being worth the price of the set alone. It's great to have these concerts finally out officially.
Couldn't ask for a better shot from this period. I like the Hilton logo at the top right as well. I thought Midnight Blast or Midnight in Vegas would've have been more fitting than that of a power ballad . Just my opinion though. Wouldn't some of us love Ernst's or Cisco King's job !!
anyone know who's mastered this? Cisko?
Redundant just to make a fast buck. Why not release "For LP Fans Only"; there's a subtle hint.
I'll get why you don't care about this, and yes itis redundant, but i really don't understand why a rerelease of tbe date lp on ftd wirh nothing new and exciting (or at least new and interesting) on it, and that is what we can expect from it realistically, would be less redundant? All new elvis releases are redundant, there are no suprises to expect. Not now, not in the future.
Good shows. But I do not think the sound is better from the earlier releases. I'll probably buy it when it's released
If FTD are true to form, the sound should be improved. After all they need to outpoint the bootleggers. Both 3000 South Paradise Road and Destination USA have a very meaty bass line to them, whereas the bootlegs sound relatively flat. Though the bass in '3000' is a bit too overpowering. Loud enough to wake the dead !
Okay, both shows have been released before on import cds. So we can hope for a future release from FTD a unreleased show. And that they improved the sound. For me both shows are a must have. I already got them but, hey, it´s a FTD ! It belongs to the other ones.
We already had the dinner shows from these days as released on FTD’s Summer Festival and 3000 South Paradise Road & now we get the midnight shows. I hope if FTD release another show from this year in the future they will release the January 26th opening show, released already on bootleg but it’s a too an important show not to release officially.
Stopped buying FTD s a long time ago. Especially live shows. Too much of the same. Not to blame FTD but Elvis was singing the same old songs too often.
Funny that I did not see a review of the CD "Were No One Stands Alone" here.
Don't hate myself enough to give that one a try, Ton, but feel free...
I can understand that Lex. It's rubbish.
