Hey little girl, you sure are cute to me
Come up a little closer, so I can see
Hold it baby now stay right where you are
Hey little girl you oughta be a movie star
All right...
Hey little girl, come on and dance with me
You're about the cutest thing I ever did see
Hey little girl, I'd like to take you home
Come on, come on, come on I want you for my very own
All right...hoo!...hoo!..
Hey little girl, you better hang on tight
A-won't you swing it to the left, and shake it to the right
Hey little girl, you know your lookin' fine
Get ready honey let's go just-a one more time
All right...hoo!...hoo!
All right, all right all right....hoo!

Another phony movie rock and roll song. The vocal is so forced, its embarrasing to listen to.
Another stab at a rock and roll song mixed with "Asian" music for the movie "Harum Scarum". This one is slightly better than "Shake That Tambourine", but but the slimmest of margins. Elvis' performance is not very convincing, but of course who could take this soundtrack seriously.
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, one of those recordings Elvis would have been better of not doing.
Absolutely awfull. It's songs and films like these that bring shame to us fans. poor Elvis- he just couldn't stand up to the colonel.
I´ve always liked this soundtrack. However, this song is not one of the finest contributions to it. It is a mediocre song, but I can enjoy it at times. But the movie scene is really painful!
It sounded awful when first released, and like the rest of the stuff on the album listened to once and the album shelved.
Terrible song, terrible scene in the movie, heck terrible movie! Elvis had officially jumped the shark and lost his reverence in the music world with this film & soundtrack. He knew it, but the Colonel didn't or didn't care as long as he got his million per.
This song was as bad as the film. I think this was an embarresment to Elvis.
Should have been a permanent outtake!!!
It was a fun scene in the movie. The song may have been a bit weak, but, Elvis' vocal on the song, was good. I bet if this song was overdubbed with a harder edge, it might be decent.
We must be listening to different tunes here ! This is a perfectley good mid sixties track by Elvis or anyone who may have cared to sing it ! We know the recording quality was not great during this session and "Frankie and Johnny" sessions but you have to be able to seperate the recording quality from the song and quality of the vocals ! Elvis sings this really well indeed ! Its rockin in the sixties style of that time ( a personal fav time of mine music wise ). These days if he sang to a little girl like that he may just get arrested and thrown in the slammer lol but I like the song and actually I like the movie alot ! I must say tho ... that out take is just bloody terrible !!!!
I enjoy this song a lot more than many film rockers in the 1960's. It has a driving beat, and an urgency that I like, and although it is no Hound Dog etc. it is very enjoyable and the last 45 seconds is a treat, with an Elvis 'hoo' and 'all right all right' thrown in for good measure.
It has some great drums on it and a good guitar solo. Not a bad song at all.
I've always liked this song and Elvis' rendition of it was splendid. I rate this song 3 stars. The other fifteen songs that Elvis recorded that were written or co-written by Joy Byers were "Baby, If You'll Give Me All Of Your Love", "C'mon Everybody", "Goin' Home", "Hard Knocks", "Hey, Hey, Hey", "It Hurts Me", "I've Got To Find My Baby", "Let Yourself Go", "Please Don't Stop Loving Me", "She's A Machine", "So Close, Yet So Far (From Paradise", "Stop, Look And Listen", "The Meanest Girl In Town", "There Ain't Nothing Like A Song" and "There's A Brand New Day On The Horizon",
When I first heard the original vinyl copy of this album I was curious to what had happened to Elvis' recordings. Add Frankie And Johnny to the pair. But, after getting those two in the DF series, they both all of a sudden sounded closer to what one would normally expect. I like the up-tempo song on this album. That includes this song. I also happen to like Animal Instinct and Wisdom Of The Ages. I actually changed my mind about these two albums mentioned after listening to the DF releases. That said, many of the soundtracks in that series are actually worth a listen. Some slightly remixed for the better! I'd rather like to write something positive about Elvis' music than the continuous rattle of the opposite. I have no problem with Hey Little Girl!
A terrible pseudo rocker. It isn't rockin, it isn't catchy, it's just awful. 1 star.
Garbage in, garbage out. Talk about complete and utter crap; this song is an absolute forced farse top be blunt from one of his worst movies. 1-star.
I'm sure I listened to this once, maybe twice, no way did it get a third one,
Not brilliant but certainly not terrible. It’s catchy and different. The album to my ears is not bad at all, there’s some really good tracks with a special eastern feel. Everyone has the right to their own opinion but this is certainly not crap imo. 2.5 stars
I enjoy the Harum Scarum soundtrack in its entirety. The movie on the other hand, now that's a different story. My only complaint about the soundtrack is that the production could've sounded better.
