Acapulco, sleeping in the bay
Acapulco, wake up and greet the day
Time to tell the guitars and sleepy-eyed stars
To be on their way
It's such a beautiful morning, for a holiday
Hey now come on, you old sleepy head
See the sky turning red, and you're still in bed
It's fun in Acapulco
Acapulco, look here comes the sun
Acapulco, it's a day for fun
I can't wait till I meet your sweet senoritas
Kiss everyone
This is no time for siesta, this is time for fun
I can't wait till I meet your sweet senoritas
Kiss everyone
This is no time for siesta, this is time for fun
This is no time for siesta, this is time for fun
...this is no time for siesta...this is time for fun...

Nice vocal, not a bad film song, but we already had too many of the same type of film song by 1963. You know, nice, but forgettable after you play it.
My favourite 60's film title tune.
Breezy, yet attractive title tune to Elvis' 13th movie. Elvis is in perfect voice throughout this soundtrack and really makes even the silliest of songs sound palatable. This song is not one of the silly ones and I give it 3 1/2 to 4 stars.
A very pleasant and likable song, good film and soundtrack too.
Pleasant likable, yes. Memorable? No. Just another film song no one was grooving to except Elvis fans.
Elvis was brilliant throughout the Fun in Acapulco soundtrack recordings and seemed to enjoy it very much. Reportedly, his inspiration did not come from his co-star though but that would be very different with the next movie! Three stars for this enjoyable title tune.
Millions of Elvis fans love this one, including yours truly.
I always enjoy hearing this one ! Its such a nice song and a real good performance by Elvis.
One of the best film title tracks from the 1960's, sung with warmth and controlled power. I immensly enjoy the album, because of the Latin feel to which he gravitated more than once during his career and the timbre of his voice on these recordings.
The horns & guitar really gives this a Mexican flavour. Not bad at all.
Just one word - beautiful, love it :-)
Pleasant song and beautifully sung by Elvis. I've always like this and the entire soundtrack album! Elvis' voice was awesome during those years!
Memorable? YES ! A real good performance.
Enjoy the song, soundtrack and movie. 4 stars.
This is such a beautiful and underrated movie title song and I've never skipped it. It's one of Elvis' very best movie title songs of the 1960's.
Every song on the Fun in Acapulco LP soundtrack were great fun. His voice is amazing on the title track and all of the other songs. Aside from Paradise Hawaiian Style, all of the movie title songs are very enjoyable -- why it was selected to open the Aloha special is the topic of a future post.
One of the few soundtracks I really like; damn fine song to be blunt.
Last of the acceptable soundtracks, if was downhill from here, should have stopped here and changed his career direction. A few aTv guest appearances and a couple of up to date studio albums. If only!!!!!!!
4 stars? Seriously? Mediocre fare.
