I've been yearning for a little romance
I wanna know when you gonna give me a chance
Kiss me honey, tell me your mine
Doncha' think it's time
I've been yearning for a sweet embrace
Rub my hair till I'm a total disgrace
Kiss me honey make my life divine
Doncha' think it's time
I don't wanna walk without you
Walkin' right by my side
It hurts me to see you talkin'
With the other guys
I get so warm when you touch my cheek
You thrill me so much that I can hardly speak
Love me honey tell me you're mine
Doncha' think it's time
I don't wanna walk without you
Walkin' right by my side
It hurts me to see you talkin'
With the other guys
I get so warm when you touch my cheek
You thrill me so much that I can hardly speak
Love me honey tell me you're mine
Doncha' think it's time
Doncha' think it's time
Doncha' think it's time
Doncha' think it's time

He really gives this the Elvis treatment with all the vocal tricks he was known for. May be a little too much at times but I love the song & performance. Solid rock n roll.
It's an okay song. Nothing special. I prefer the version that first (mistakenly) appeared on Gold
Records Vol 2 over the single version. Smoother delivery. Less pronounced vocal tricks.
It's only Rock'n'Roll... but i like it, i like it, yes i do!
Very good song...fluid harmony of Elvis, the Jordanaires and the band !
This is the 'King' doing a song HIS way. Listen and learn. A 5* recording as were many at this time in his career.
I like both versions. The LP version had less pronounced vocal tricks, but on the single version the band rocked harder, so if I had to choose, I think the single cooked more.
Fantastic Song, Pure Elvis, Pure 50's, Elvis doing what he does best.
I've always loved this song. I can listen to it over and over again. It's the fun loving, young Elvis of the 1950's. Just Great!!
I first got acros this song as I bought the golden vinyl edition of golden records vol. 2 sometime in the early eighthies. this a relaxed song, a nice one too. they should have allowed him to cut a few sides more before being off two entire years. it was his prime in the 50's. listen to other gems as there are fool such as I, wear my ring...great stuff.
A far less commercial, but superior track than it's A-side "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck". This song is typical Elvis, taking a decent song and making it a gem. I love the single version and I like the more slightly subdued album version. The B-sides in the 50's produced some great underrated material, "I Was The One", "Playing For Keeps", "That's When Your Heartaches Begin", "I Beg Of You", "Treat Me Nice", "Anyway You Want Me" and this one. You could make a seven song album out of these and not feel cheated by the there only being seven songs, the material is just that fantastic.
I am not consistent in my views on this one. When I have a set of 50's tracks to listen to, then this is never in the first tier. When I do get round to giving it a spin it is a pleasant enough experience and it gains somewhat from being a fairly unique song style. Having just listened to it again it is well worth 4 stars.
The songwriter Willie Dixon was actually named Brook Benton. The master is spliced from takes 40,47 & 48. A very special song. Not fast, not slow. Certainly not bad, but not one of the greats from the 50's.
I really like this song plain and simple! It's much, much better than the flip side of the original 45 RPM record, "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck" released in 1958. He was in the army and this was one of many which had to tide fans over until his discharge in 1960.
I used to play the single to death! Both sides! When I finally got hold of the Gold Records Volume 2, I felt let down, since it wasn't the same sound of the song on there. Took years to find the single version on album tt's the single version for me that really counts!
This song is a true gem and Elvis' rendition of it is a masterpiece. I've never skipped it. It's by far one of my most favorite Rock 'N' Roll songs of all time. Elvis' rendition of this song will definitely always be the best rendition of this song. 5 Stars.
I absolutely LOVE this song. I usually play it over and over again when the track comes up on my CD. I wish it were longer. GREAT STUFF!
One of my all time favourite 50s track. Genius
