Any day now I will hear you say
Goodbye my love
You'll be on your way
Then my wild beautiful bird
You will have flown
Any day now I’ll be all alone
Oh, oh, oh
Any day now, when your restless eyes
Meet someone new
To my sad surprise
Then the blue shadow will fall all over town
Any day now
Love will let me down
Oh, oh, oh
I know I shouldn't want to keep you
If you don't want to stay, yeah
Until you've gone forever
I'll be holding on for dear life
Holding you this way
Begging you to stay
Any day now
When the clock strikes go
You'll call it off
Then my tears will flow
Then the blue shadow will fall all over town
Any day now
Love will let me down
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, any day now
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, any day now
Don't fly away my beautiful bird
Don't fly away my beautiful bird

Never much cared for this song.
This is a really good Elvis track and deserved to be released as the top side, an excellent soulful sound.
is this great love song really about a bird?..
This is my favorite version of this song, better than the original by Chuck Jackson.
This song is absolute fabulous. 5+ stars.
A song amazingly well sung. White soul at it's best.
Fantastic performance by Elvis with soul vocal gymnastics that are peerless. Yes it should have been an 'A' Side and it would have sold millions.- at the very least 5 stars.
Breath taking is all I can say about the way Elvis performs this song. His voice covers everything and elevates the song from good to great. Cannot say enough good things. About as close to perfectly performed as possible.
This is such a fantastic and unique song and Elvis' rendition of it was brilliant, passionate, heartfelt and soulful. I've never skipped it. Elvis' version of it should have been released as an A-Side, but unfortunately it wasn't.
Great song. Brilliant rendition. The single, with “In the Ghetto” in the A side, was almost a double A record.” Any day now” was one of the best B sides from 1969 on.
Love-Love-Love-Elvis Presley's version of this song. What a amazing Vocal performance. Such heart and Soul. The Memphis Recordings-are my favorite of all the Elvis recording sessions. Of note: Elvis also does his vocal magic on the song "Gentle on my Mind". I think "Gentle" was meant to be sung this way, slow and soulful, instead of the faster versions of this song.
My late mother loved this song. (it is her fault I like Elvis!) and it is certainly one of my all time favorites too. Much better than In The Ghetto!
One of Elvis' most soulful performances and yet one more highlight from the LP "Elvis In Memphis". Perfect vocals on a well-written song make this a 5 star track all the way.
Should have been a "A" side. His vocal is pure magic.Every music collection should include Elvis Presley's Memphis recordings. More singles could have been released from these sessions.
The greatest version of this classic song! I give it the same amount of stars that are in the heavens.
Back in the day, I actually didn't pay much attention to this song. But, it has certainly grown on me over the years. Now I found it strange that I didn't catch it right away. I have heard other versions, but no one comes close to Elvis! Great performance! 5 stars!
Should have been an A side single release with Gentle on my mind as the B side (although I like Gentle more). Pure brilliance 5 star.
Many describe this song as soulful (or white soul). I never liked soul music. This is why although I like it, it doesn't "do it" for me. Good but not great I would say. 4 stars
3-stars. Average song in my book.
Always had a weak spot for this song, from the first time I played the flip side of In The Ghetto.
