The show of 24.04.75 Macon, Georgia is already known. A soundboard is already on the collectors market. The Afternoon Show on 27.04.75 Lakeland, Florida is completely new. A brand new show never heard before. The evening show of that day has already been published by FTD in 2014. Now also the Afternoon Show. The song selection is good. Some rarities are already there. Let's hope that this time finally the sound quality, no clicks and the correct speed, fits. This set should not convince all Elvis fans. But for the complete concert collector probably a must. The cover shows a good-humored Elvis. I like this photo, but not the CD cover artwork. Would have gone better. But, Ok.

The show of the first CD is also included in the import box-release "Elvis Rocks in 1975", isn't it?

Not impressed or interested at all.

Ciscoking: you seem to be hammering out these soundboards from 1974/75 very intensely. At the risk of being shot down in flames, may I suggest looking at some 1977 SB's. Why haven't we had one since 2011 ? I know there's some reading this hoping that it will stay that way, but that would only be going against FTD's release policy. Surely there's plenty of them that are much better than we already have. From the February tour we have Savannah GA (17th), Columbia SC (18th) or Johnson City TN (19th). From the April/May tour there's the Greensboro NC (21st), Milwaukee (27th) and the 2 Chicago IL shows from May 1st & 2nd, going by their respective audience recordings. We also haven't a concert from March 1976. Also, according to JAT's Sessions 3 book, there are 8 SB's from August/September 1973 in Vegas. That engagement has also been overlooked. Is there any decent material worthy of release ? Even outstanding quality booth recordings like the Aug. 20 M/S.

Ooops ! We had Closing Night, but those shows were badly junked, so there must be more respectable performances by Elvis from this period.

Not the least bit interested. Next!

I listened to the already released show yesterday, or at least i tried. I stopped listening, because it was really depressing for well known reasons. Shouldn't be released officially imo.

I agree with Dazman. Soundboards from uncovered tours (by FTD) need to be released. I'm a collector, yet I have absolutely no interest in getting this Georgia/Florida set.

Since I don't have the Macon boot, I listened to it on YouTube and I actually liked the performance. Not only is it a good line-up Elvis actually sounds really fresh and far from bored. I didn't like the Atlanta set. He sounded a bit overcome by the daily routine. That said however it's the unbalanced piano led mix that's a real let down and I doubt the Lakeland show would be much different. Anyway I'll wait until the reviews come out. Looking forward to your answer Cisco !

Dazman: I am not hammering out 1975 SBs..I just think it was time again...your 1976 proposals have already been considered..it is just a matter of time...I wont recommend any 1977 to Ernst unless he asks me to have a look at it..I do know that not all is bad..though...about what is written in books and what is there....there lies some truth and speculation in it...so ..in general..take these book lines with reservation.. take care...mate..
Dazman wrote on April 27, 2019
Thanks for your understanding and reassurance Cisco. However I think come Sessions 4, that sorting truth from speculation would help inform us better. Cheers !

It's not my intention to provocate anyone, but what is the point, the justification in releasing this set? The music and sound are bloody awful as we already know, and as there are already 4 (if i had count it right) shows officially released from that period, i can't neither see the argumentarion "documenting this era" as a justification. So why? What's the point?
Ciscoking wrote on May 11, 2019
What is the justification for any release ? Dont get the point. We are back in 1975. Thats it. Dont dig too deep. Macon is a fantastic show, Lakeland a nice unreleased in any form bonus. Remember FTD is a collectors label.

I listened to parts of the "fantastic" show ... its far from fantastic. Beside making a quick buck, i don't see any justification to release shows that aren't enjoyable or interesting. The shows here ar substandard, the sound is crap, they doesn't tell us something that we haven't known already. So, whats the point? I think, that's a legit question. If you collect, f.eks., paintings, you won't collect every painting in exciting, no matter how crappie it is, won't you? You write collector, but you mean hoarder.
Ciscoking wrote on May 21, 2019
As an expert who you are without any doubt you knew what to expect. .so why did you buy it...when you don't like it...just for "hoarding"..?..I have.it..because I like Elvis in 1975...it's good..and contemporary music performed in the Southern states..where Elvis grew up..a win win..
Ciscoking wrote on May 21, 2019
I forgot .please don't give me the argument you bought it cause you though Elvis was singing like back in 1927..you knew what you get. .it's Elvis in 1975...So why did you buy it..besides. ."hoarding".just to have a reason to naysay..?..well..
NorthElvis wrote on May 22, 2019
I'm very happy with this release. This is what Elvis was like in this time of his life. I find both shows good and entertaining, and considering this is a SB, I find the sound more than acceptable. Well done, FTD-team!! However, I am looking forward for some words from Ernst and Roger about the tours/Vegas/Tahoe-seasons that have not yet been covered. Can we expect that we eventually will have a show released from every tour/Vegas/Tahoe-season, or are there simply not good enough SB's (sound quality) to find? Ciscoking: Thanks a lot for all your contributions! I really appreciate your comments of the shows released. Are there any plans of releasing the 1975 New Years Eve show? Thanks in advance.
Ciscoking wrote on May 22, 2019
Thanks for the kind words. ...they demonstrate that music is just a matter of taste..and yes...that was our Elvis in 1975...we got what we expected..just happy about it. ..overall the feedback is quite positive..despite the few steady naysayers..
benny scott wrote on May 22, 2019
NorthElvis : I second that . Cisco : don't waste your precious time on naysayers, especially on a particular one ! ( to whom it may concern)
Ciscoking wrote on May 22, 2019
Thanks..life is too short . You are right..we should enjoy it..absolutely..
