Flaming Star 100

A great way to spend the Sunday afternoon is thumbing through this wonderful magazine, while playing the brand new vinyl album American Sound 1969 Highlights.

This issue of the Norwegian fanclub magazine (congrats to the staff with that milestone by the way!) continues with the cashbox series (1958). There are two articles (one translated) on the beforementioned 1969 sessions and one on the Sun recordings, one and a half decade earlier. Stein Erik Skar gives the stage to Guralnicks Last Train To Memphis and Carless Love and there's a closer look on Elvis' country recordings guided by the collection Great Country Songs. It Happened at the World's Fair is the movie that shines this time. As always all articles are accompanied by beautiful and often rare pictures. Even if you don't understand a word Norwegian, they eye-candy is still worth the time.
