The latest outing from Madison label is now out. "Event Number Eight" (The eight wonder of the world) is a pretty good CD of an unusual performance given by Elvis at the Houston Astrodome in front of 43 974 peoples (broke that record at the evening show with 44 175). This show is unusual because the Joe Guercio's orchestra wasn't there, it's only Elvis, his rhythm band and his back-up singers. Given the above this soundboard recording has a warm feeling of a very small venue since you cannot hear the crowd too much (they were quite far from the stage). You'll certainly understand what I mean while listening to "Help Me" which sounds almost like an undubbed studio version. You can also feel James Burton, Ronnie Tutt and the other members giving little extras for making it a fuller sound. Most of the performances are excellent but some of the highlights would be; Trying To Get To You, Johnny B. Goode, I Can't Stop Loving You, Help Me, Let Me Be There. As with the first Madison release (Breathing Out Fire) the packaging is professionally done and does look
