Elvis performed at the Stage Show, CBS Studio at 8.00 p.m. where he sung Tutti Frutti and Baby, Let's Play House. Obviously he still was not permitted to sing Heartbreak Hotel. After the show Elvis was invited by the Dorsey Brothers to go to Roseland, a popular dance club in midtown Manhattan.

Elvis' cousin, Junior Smith, who had not been right since suffering shell shock in the Korean War, died of alcohol poisoning in their uncle Travis' home. Elvis' friend from Waco, Eddie Fadal, accompanied him to the house and recollected Elvis just kept saying: "It's all over, Junior. It's all over."
