Elvis went to the birthday party for Jan Shepard, who played his sister in the movie. He showed up with a stuffed tiger on his shoulders that he had named Danny Boy, after the song he had often sung on the set. He also gave Shepard a movie camera, with which home movies of the party were shot.

Recording of backing tracks for the movie Clambake continued from 7.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m. but without Elvis, who remained at his hotel.
