Elvis On Television (Vinyl)

By ElvisNews.com/ Lex, April 19, 2017 | Other

After the Boxcar book and the CD/book by Memphis Recording Service the same MRS releases this material on vinyl for Record Store Day.

Unfortunately the discs contain no hidden surprises, but it is great to have those heavy black discs in your hands and even better to play them. For some reason vinyl is more inviting to me when I want to listen to music, CDs are good for background sound, but for listening I prefer LPs.

The 2 discs contain all audio material available from the TV-shows from 1956-1960, good for nearly one and a half hour of playing time.

The complete package is even better. One can’t go wrong with the pictures of Elvis in 1956 and 1960. Some pictures in the 24 page booklet suffer (like in the book) from the size and get a bit grainy. On the other hand does it give them a kind of vintage look, fitting the carrier of the music.

I can only draw the conclusion that one Record Store Day a year is not enough. Another great outing by Memphis Recording Service!

Great vinyl and way overdue. Sorry FTD too slow once again. Only gripe is the intros are cut out. It would have been nice to kick off with the Dorsey intro but I guess we have the full versions on the cd. Well MRS.
