Circle G Official Marker

September 15, 2021 | Other

On September 8 2021 the new 'Historical Marker' at Elvis’ Circle G Ranch was officially erected to commemorate Elvis’ time at the Circle G and his link with the City of Horn Lake. The Circle G Foundation note that it literally is a SIGN that Elvis Presley’s devoted fans from around the world care about his Circle G Ranch in Horn Lake Mississippi! Elvis fans have united to sponsor the new State Historical Marker for the ranch…the FIRST Mississippi State marker to be sponsored internationally.

The Mayor of Horn Lake Mr Alan Latimer represented the City of Horn Lake and Elvis’ first cousin Donna Presley, who lived at the ranch for a time, was in attendance. Ms Presley spoke about her time at the ranch and how much the property meant to Elvis.

The Historic Marker was sited with the assistance and permission of the State of Mississippi. Elvis purchased the ranch in February 1967 and owned it until 1972.  Although a relatively short period of time, he purchased it at a very significant period in his life….a newly married man, an expectant father and approaching a life changing crossroads in his career.

Elvis found tranquility at the ranch and a place to escape from the pressures of ‘being Elvis Presley’.
Priscilla Presley is quoted as saying she believes he “found peace there”.

The Historical Marker Initiative has been spearheaded by The Circle G Foundation, a non-profit organisation run by Elvis fans, established in 2010 and whose Mission Statement is to commemorate Elvis’ tenure at the Circle G, celebrate and continue his charitable and humanitarian legacy.

Thank you to all of you who continue to support our efforts to celebrate and commemorate Elvis’ time at The Circle G Ranch.
