The full program for Elvis Week 2021 is announced (if the events are possible at all by then). Besides the impersonator clowns there are some possible interesting events like the Nashville Marathon 50th Anniversary concert and Elvis In Concert. Tickets for Elvis Week 2021 will go on sale on Friday, February 12, at 1:00 pm CST.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11
MEMPHIS EXCURSION WITH TOM BROWN & ANGIE MARCHESE
Departs from The Guest House at Graceland at 9:00 am.

The 2021 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest will end as the winner is crowned during the Final Round of the competition. Hosted by Joey Sulipeck, the top finalists from the Semifinal Round will return to see who is crowned the 2021 winner – and will take home a $20,000 prize. While Elvis Presley became the biggest name in music history and achieved worldwide fame and fortune, his roots in the Northeast Mississippi city of Tupelo were humble. Guests will experience the rural setting of Elvis' upbringing and see where it all began in the two-room house where the King of Rock ‘n' Roll was born on January 8, 1935, the church he attended in his youth and see artifacts from his modest beginnings. Artifacts on display as part of the Elvis Presley Stable Tour include saddles used by Elvis and his entourage, personal western wear worn by Elvis, checks and documents related to the purchase of some of Elvis’ horses, and home movie footage of Elvis on horseback at Graceland. Additional Graceland Stable Tours are also available on August 14, 15 and 17. Tours may be canceled or rescheduled due to inclement weather.

NASHVILLE MARATHON SESSIONS 50TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

Celebrate Elvis’ Nashville Marathon Sessions at Nashville’s Studio B in 1970 and 1971 with musicians James Burton, Norbert Putnam, David Briggs, and Charlie McCoy, who shared the studio with Elvis during these legendary recordings. Joined by vocalists Terry Mike Jeffrey and Dean Z, this concert will feature an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling. From fan favorites songs such as “Just Pretend” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water” to “I’ve Lost You” and “Stranger in the Crowd” – enjoy a very special night of Elvis music at the Graceland Soundstage.

In 1976, the Jungle Room at Graceland became a make-shift studio – and Elvis recorded there in February and October of that year. During this exclusive tour experience, step back 45 years to 1976 with some of the guys who were part of the Jungle Room sessions to hear their stories of what it was like to record with Elvis. Hosted by Tom Brown, special guests include guitarist James Burton, piano player David Briggs, and bassist Norbert Putnam. In addition, as part of the experience, guests will enjoy a rare photo opportunity inside the Jungle Room with our special guests. This experience is also offered on August 17.

Enjoy a Memphis-style brunch at The Guest House at Graceland while enjoying Elvis gospel music by Terry Blackwood and The Imperials. Terry Blackwood performed with Elvis as part of The Imperials – including during Elvis’ return to Vegas in 1969 and in the studio during Elvis’ recording of his Grammy award winning album “He Touched Me.” Advance ticket sales only for this event.

AN AFTERNOON WITH ELVIS’ PIANO MAN GLEN HARDIN
2:00 pm; Graceland Soundstage, Elvis Presley’s Memphis.

Join us for an afternoon performance featuring TCB Band member Glen Hardin and singer/musician Terry Mike Jeffrey as they share stories and music from Glen’s remarkable career. Glen performed and played piano for Elvis from 1970 to 1976 and was responsible for a large percentage of Elvis’ live orchestral arrangements – plus he has performed and recorded with artists such as Roy Orbison, Emmylou Harris, John Denver, and Ricky Nelson. A fun, casual performance experience!

CANDLELIGHT VIGIL
8:30 pm. Gates of Graceland.
After an opening ceremony at the Gates of Graceland, fans are invited to walk up the driveway to Elvis' gravesite and back down carrying a candle in quiet remembrance. Gates remain open until all who wish to participate in the procession have done so, which typically takes until the early morning hours of August 16, the anniversary of Elvis' passing. The Candlelight Vigil will be open for all to attend. No special passes or wristbands are required to participate in the Candlelight Vigil. All guests will be required to pass through security checkpoint. Can't be in Memphis for the vigil? The Candlelight Vigil Ceremony will also be available to watch online.

MONDAY, AUGUST 16
FAN CELEBRATION EVENT

Proceeds benefit the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation.

Celebrate the 60th anniversary of one of Elvis’ biggest films, "Blue Hawaii," with a luau to close out Elvis Week 2021. Featuring live Polynesian entertainment, a delicious Hawaiian-inspired dinner on the Guest House back lawn, and Elvis’ Blue Hawaii on the big screen under the stars, this will be an unforgettable end to an amazing week! The Elvis Week TCB Pass returns for Elvis Week 2021 for $35. The TCB Pass provides an incredible value to help you make the most of your week. With the TCB Pass, you receive unlimited access to the Music Pavilion (more details below), unlimited access to Elvis Presley’s Memphis on 8/11 – 8/17, plus free parking in Graceland’s Visitor Parking Lot every day after 5pm. One pass covers you for the duration of Elvis Week. This pass is only available to purchase at the Graceland Ticket Office.

ELVIS WEEK MUSIC PAVILION
12:00 pm - 11:00 pm, August 11-17. Graceland Exhibition Center, Graceland.
Access available with TCB Pass.
The Graceland Exhibition Center will once again be home to the Elvis Week Music Pavilion. The indoor, air-conditioned space is home to continuous live entertainment, and provides a comfortable area for fans to recharge and reconnect. Food and beverage options are also available. The building is conveniently located near Graceland’s Visitor Parking Lot and is easily accessible by foot or free shuttle. Access to this space is available with our Elvis Week TCB Pass for $35.00 and will provide unlimited access to the Music Pavilion (seating on a first-come/first-served basis), unlimited access to Elvis Presley’s Memphis, plus free parking in Graceland’s Visitor Parking Lot every day after 5pm. One pass covers you for the duration of Elvis Week. The TCB Pass is only available for purchase at the Graceland Ticket Office.

FREE MORNING AND EVENING WALK-UP TIMES TO THE MEDITATION GARDEN
Daily throughout the year there is a period for free-admission walk-up visits to the Meditation Garden at Graceland. Elvis Week morning walk-ups will be from 7:30 am – 8:30 am on August 11-17. Morning walk-ups may not be available on August 16 due to the Candlelight Vigil. For morning walk-ups, guests must exit the mansion grounds before Graceland tours begin. Elvis Week evening walk-ups will be from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm on August 11-14 and August 16; on August 17 – evening walk-ups will be from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Evening walk-ups will not be available on the nights of August 15 due to the Candlelight Vigil.

I haven’t been to Memphis or even American for quite a few years now so maybe I’m out of touch with prices, but some of these prices seem out of this world. Even $60 for a coach ride around Memphis seems an awful lot of money. Plus it sounds like you don’t even get off the coach.
