James Drury, died today of natural causes. He was 85. Drury supported Elvis Presley in his movie debut ‘Love Me Tender’ (1956). He played Elvis’s brother, Ray Reno.

Wow! Elvis' brother, Ray, outlived him by almost 64 years!
Clint Reno died in autumn of 1956, and Ray Reno died in the spring of 2020.

James Drury, of course, went on to bigger things as star of "The Virginian" on American TV for a number of seasons. I'm sure those regular paychecks put much more food on the table than his supporting role in "Love Me Tender." Until I read this story I didn't realize he was even in "Love Me "Tender." "The Virginian" is how I'll remember him. Rest In Peace, James.
