The Guitar Player Worth A Damn

November 21, 2019 | Video

Venus Productions is back with a new release. It is a qualified revamp of “Elvis On Tour,” compiled from hours of unreleased footage.
Taken from the best sources available, this professionally-restored movie will astound you for almost 95 minutes. Also included in this set is a CD of the never-before-released Hampton Roads afternoon show from April 9, 1972, digitally restored from the original ambience tape. As an additional bonus, we also offer an unreleased alternate mix of the Greensboro performance from April 14, 1972. The book is filled with scores of unpublished and rare photographs from April 1972.

Now this is what I like, Elvis on film and in concert, and what I see here it looks and sounds good. My only problem is to get my head around the 'counter' which I am constantly drawn to and find annoying, however if that is how it has to be ... ..........!!

Hi Gorse, watched the promo film on my pc monitor, full screen. Counter is annoying indeed. Know what I did ? I sticked a small piece (in my case +/- 1 cm x 7 cm) of self-adhesive black tape hiding the counter. Less annoying (no rolling figures any more) Removing the piece of tape left no trace of adhesive stuff on the screen, and if it should do one can always remove it with a product for sceencleaning. Best regards from Belgium.

It seems to me like they just turned the (more natural) pale Elvis into a (unnatural) red Elvis. Creating a warmer 'temperature' on a footage is something I can do with every freeware movie-editing software. A little more color (okay we are already up to two clicks now) will bring exactly what's in the trailer. And the audio .. seems we are buying these concerts in weekly intervals now. To make a long story short: The top-label Venus became a rip-off label with nothing new to offer to me. The second release I'll skip. AND .. I like the pale Elvis better.

I will give that a go Benny but film I have previously been able to 'rip', using the Movavi Video Suite (highlight and conceal) enables one to blank out the area concerned leaving it as 'misty'. You are absolutely correct Boxcar as playing about with all the colour adjustments available on Movavi (as an example) I achieve some startling differences and rejuvenation on some of my DVD's.

Watched the DVD last night on my (60") TV, and I can only say this comparison does it no justice. The actual result is not this redish thing, but much better. Loved the edit from the first to the last minute. Have a lot of this stuff scattered over DVDs, but now it is finally really enjoyable.

I ordered a copy, although it has been released repeat products lately, I was interested in the unpublished cd. I hope the sound is good
