The superlong weekend was a good opportunity to work through the pile of magazines that was in our mailbox last week. Here is an overview.
My Happiness
From France is this 90th issue of My Happiness. The main features are an article on the recording session of July 2, 1956 an one on Ginger Alden. All the fanclubs regulars, like "today in France", are present too.
The King
The Christmas issue of Finland's fanclub magazine The King brings Sandi Miller's stories, an interview with Carol Montgomery, background singer, an in memoriam for Alfred Wertheimer and Part 4 of look on 1966. All regulars and series are also in this magazine.
Club Elvis
From Spain comes number 88 of Club Elvis. Besides their regulars they reserved most space for That's All Right Mama and the Deluxe version of That's The Way It Is.
Graceland
From Germany is #220 of Graceland, the Elvis Presley Gesellschaft's magazine. It brings next to the regulars an article on Kay Wheeler, mother of all fanclubs and a lot of eye candy in the form of Ann Margret, indeed a huge article on Viva Las Vegas. This issue also has a 2015 calendar included.
Golden Boy Elvis
Also from Germany is this glossy magazine. They also pay respect to Wertheimer. In their Songs A-Z series they focus on A Big Hunk and Big Boss Man and the LP series has room for Rare Elvis. The remaining of the magazine is almost completely filled with their in depth reviews of recent releases.
The Elvis Files Magazine
Last but certainly not least is not a fanclub magazine as such, but the famous Elvis Files Magazine, the 10th issue. King Creole, Charities and live in 1970-71 are the main subjects. As usual presented with tons of pictures in eye catching quality.
