At Dinner In Vegas & Back On Track In Vegas

January 13, 2014 | Video

Touchdown Productions proudly presents two new audience recorded releases. One of it, the dinner Show from September 3, 1972 is another totally new show that didn't even circulate on CDR or in any other form. The show was very good, Elvis was in fine form and sang some very fine renditions of "What Now My Love", "I'll Remember You" and also "For The Good Times"! The soundquality is good for this kind of recordings. The CD comes with a beautiful designed 16-pages booklet.

Back on Track

At the same time Touchdown Produtions will release the midnight show from January 28, 1974. Elvis was much more focussed during the first Vegas engagement in 1974 as he had been during the former engagement when Elvis presented himself less professional than in recent years. The midnight show had an interesting song line-up which included some seldom sung songs like "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'", "Spanish Eyes" or "Sweet Caroline". The soundquality is good for this kind of recordings. The CD comes also as usual with a beautiful designed 16-pages booklet including lots of rare pictures from this engagement!

After hearing sound samples i am feeling rather dubious about this release, the sound is below what i'd like and absolutely nothing to do with the premier label such as SA so i am feeling much less inclined to buy these now.Even if the 72 show is 'new' its same track listing as we have in better sound..so why not save my money for a better quality product. I remember well wasting my money on the 'showroom label' product of 'Back in the Desert' the 22/2/73 M/S...... only for it to come out in VASTLY superior sound (different source)on the Straight Arrow label!~

sound is bad on both..unfortunately..the 1974 show is from January 26, 1974 MS...not 28 as stated in the flyer..

We already have the January 26, 1974 Opening night show on 'Something old, something new' from Memory Records (2002). The audience recording is OK on that one. I am assuming it is the same show, since Elvis usually did only one show for opening night. Ciscoking - Can you confirm that it's the same show? Thanks. - TCB

Elvis did 2 shows on January 26, 1974 ...the real opening was January 27..with only a 10 pm show being performed. Elvis had to postpone the opneing on Jan 26 cause Frank Sinatra opened on Januray 26, too...he didn`t want to conflict..
