This is obviously great news but sadly, this UK tour will be without the original TCB band. It’ll be with all new musicians/singers helping to keep Elvis rockin’ arenas around the country.
There is no additional news of whether or not there will be any European tour dates being added and it’s not yet known if the new tour will follow the same format as before, or if the new band members will be bringing more performances to life by way of ’50s TV performances, movie songs and of course, more ’70s live songs.
Whatever the set-list, I’m sure Elvis fans across England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales will be coming out to enjoy the closest thing to experiencing Elvis ‘live’. For past concert tours, EPE and Stig Edgren have booked it into the large arenas. This time around it will play in smaller venues with a larger geographical reach thus giving more fans a chance to see it.

Hope it comes to Denmark, else I am going to England. I don't mind the new musicians and singers, time was begining to take its tolds on the old ones.
Like Alan, I’m not fundamentalist to the original TCB band. If the format is good, if the song selection is careful daring and if we have fine musicians, I’ll go for sure and repeat. The King’s Voice is the only thing that really moves me. May be a new opportunity to explore new song from the 50’s and even from the movies years, like Viva Las Vegas, Jailhouse Rock (57 original) or Clean up Your how back Yard, and specially the great TV performances from 56' Stage Show with Baby Let’s Play House, Tutti Frutti or Blue Suede Shoes. Let’s just wait and see. I’m hopeful and expecting!
I agree . The band is not important, as long as there is a new show, which I hope comes to Germany ,too. The only one (except Elvis) I really miss, is is best friend...Charlie Hodge !!!
It's ELVIS in Concert. So as long as they present ELVIS as he originallly was, that's fine with me. I just hope they don't show up with useless extra's just to let these backgrounders show off. Let's say one solo for every one ill do.Like in those glorious days.
not my cup of English tea...
Southend - here we come with a visit to Bobby Jo's 50's diner !
The tickets are already on sale:
Please go to www.theticketfactory.com
and type in 'Elvis Presley - On Stage'
Sounds like bad news... no big new show.
Hope it comes to Istanbul. The original back up singers one never came to Turkey hope this one comes...
Since original band members are no longer involved in the production, any number of touring ensembles could be put together to back a virtual Elvis. Who knows, a hundred years from now there might be more versions of Elvis in Concert around than there are Elvis impersonators.
The concept indeed appears to have shifted from the concert hall experience towards the Las Vegas experience, and smaller venues are needed for this experience. The concert seems to be one taped for the movie That's The Way It Is. What have happened with the virtual Elvis that was announced?
As far as I know the 'Virtual Elvis' has been put on the backburner due to the company concerned going out of business.
All together some 60.000 seats! Great ELVIS country!
I saw this version a couple of years ago in Memphis. I thought it was FANTASTIC. I hope the US will get some dates.
Maybe I am crashing the party a bit, here. I never attended an Elvis the Concert event when they stopped by here in Switzlerland. It looked quite eerie to me: Elvis on screen and his original band playing live. But I kinda understood the concept and the enthusiasm of fans, to attend these memorial events to recapture a tidbit of what an Elvis Presley Show surely was back in the day. But now, as the original band members are drawing back it's getting strange. While in the former concept the band members were related to Man on the screen in his lifetime, this isn't the case anymore. So, what is the motivation behind this new project? Therefore I'd suggest: Why not "let Elvis leave the building" for good now? His heritage in music will remain, as long as this earth exists...
I totally disagree with Sitdown Revamped. It is Elvis who is THE STAR and not the TCB Band. Records have run their course and such projects as this will be the future. People want to see Elvis - The Greatest Entertainer who ever lived. If you go on youTube and type in 'Elvis At The Orpheum' you will see what the new musicians/singers sound like - they are fantastic. Looking to the future - bring on the 'hologram' and 'laser' Elvis Concerts.
I went to the elvis in concert in Copenhagen a couple of years ago, and while it was cool with the TCB band, I could also start to hear that they were getting older. I came to see Elvis, the band and backup singers were just a bonus. I would rather have the best band instead of the most historic band. The exitement for me was to see Elvis on a big scene and with a big sound, and do it together with other fans. Next time I will bring a freind who like some of the Elvismusic I have played for him, and make a fan out of him , because that is what happens to most people who see Elvis this way !
That's why I stated it's ELVIS in concert. Although I have the opportunity to see Elvis 3 x 4 mtr in my home, it was a fantastic experience to go twice to the ELVIS in concert and feel the thrill with thousands of other ELVIS fans. And like the latest rections already stated, that's what we are coming for. At some occasions I would have liked to shout out: we want ELVIS, as sometimes I get the impression some of these people see themselves as the centerpiece (and for quite a number in the audience that seems true!), but for me it is only to sort of relive the time ELVIS was still amongst us. So I am also not stuck on the TCB band as long as I can enjoy that one and only Entertainer of my life time that matters: ELVIS. I want ELVIS and I want it as he was during his life time; I don't give a penny for the musicians as long as they honor the legacy.
Does anyone know What the tikets costs ? If the show doesn't come over here (Denmark), then I'm thinking about going to Brighton to see it. I hope it comes over here, because then I will bring a freind or two, my little sister, and my wife.
Thank you metalelvis, I will order a couple for the Brighton show, if the show doesn't come to Denmark, as I hope to be able to meet Lee Dawson (the guy that runs, together with Joe Kriend, the GREAT ElvisExpressRadio, and who lives in Brighton), and tell him in person how much I appreciate the work he does on that radio show.
hi alanfalk i have brought 2 for cardiff and altogether it came to £ 75.00
