And, why is this necessary? The answer someone needs to make a buck.

Somebody out to make a quick buck now that the 50 year copyright is over.As sunrecords56 says, 62 recordings with a 57 photo. I don't think a lot of thought & care has been taken over this release. I think I'll give this cheap rubbish a miss.

Hey, Jimmy, I start working on it immediately. Great idea. I also need a quick buck (smile)

I expect someone here can give a good reason other than money, why these compilations are produced, but personally I think it cheapens the whole Elvis experience.

The saying goes, you cant judge a book by its cover. I wonder if it applies to CDs as well.

Let's be frank. It's always been about money, RCA (& BMG, Sony etc), Hill & Range, Colonel, Hollywood, Elvis Presley Enterprices, Pricsilla, The Elvis Mafia, even Elvis himself (most of the times). Making money... How else can you explain some of the movies and soundrack recordings that came with them? If we like the 'product' we buy it, if not we don't. At least Elvis music etc are the products we all want to buy and he deserved the money and fame he got. All others were (and still are) just looking for opportunities to get a piece of the cake. Often they make good effort and something worthy is up for sale. Sometimes it is just 'crap'... This one doesn't seem like a good effort...

Tracey Jayne is right ! Chrome Dreams is a fine label and the UK people behind it know their job. I have their 'Sun Recordings' and though nothing can beat the 'A Boy From Tupelo' ( it had to be the best considering it's price {agreed, the book had to be paid for too}) the Chrome Dreams release can, imho, without any doubt, bear the comparison with CDs having the Sun Recordings as subject ( I have them all, ABFT included) like, per example,Elvis Scotty And Bill (Xtra) Elvis At Sun ( Sony/Bmg), Sunrise (Bmg) and The Sun Sessions (RCA). Real good booklet too. Chrome Dreams : NOT a label to make a quick buck, but 'taken good care of' releases. They deserve our support ! Always El.
