Gravel Road will release a 2nd show from the first Las Vegas-engagement of 1971. This is what they have to say about it:
With the limited Album “SNOWBIRD REVISITED” we started off with the first of three shows from 1971 January – February Las Vegas season.
With great pleasure we announce the second show “ONLY BELIEVE”. This is a fantastic show of January 27, 1971 Midnight.
If you enjoyed “SNOWBIRD REVISITED”, you’ll going to love the cd “ONLY BELIEVE” for sure! It took 18 years to come up with a fully re-mastered audio and deluxe artwork with plenty photos and liner notes of January 1971. All housed in a modern seventies styled package. We guarantee, you’ll hear details not heard before!
With the research we figured out that it is very likely that only “Suspicious Minds” and “The Impossible Dream” were not recorded. Because of the energy of the show, the show of 28th of January Midnight was the best choice to restore it to a complete show. We took these songs and edited them to make them fit the show.
We have the already spendid DAE: All things are possible. Saves 22 euro at least. For newbies, great show!
I'm one of the newbies (in the context of buying boots), so I have ordered mine.
Great packaging. that's the way to do it & give it a 70s feel. Always the highest standard set for us Elvis fans
The show is not so great. Mark Littlejohn's review of this performance on the "Elvis Still Active In Norway" website says it all. This release looks like a good deal, especially if it is "new" to the buyer. GRM cannot change history. The show is what it is. GRM does a great job with the material, so you can expect that this will be the "go to" release of this concert, now and in the future.
the 'DAE;All Things Are Possible' has that funny double track on one of the last tracks. like two tracks playing at the same time. whats up with that? 'Only Believe' may be a better all round experience.
When you don`t have the original you now have a fair chance to get this concert again..
I have the original DAE release. I've heard the Gravel Road release and i have to admit that re-issues are mostly better, but this isn't the case here. The Gravel Road release sounds "muffled" i mean that the DAE release sounds more fresh. It is still a nice release if you dig soundboards and you don't have the DAE release, stick with this one: soundboards from 1971 are pretty are if you ask me.
I'll skip this one.
