'The Unreachable Star- As recorded at Madison Square Garden' is the new releases for the STAR dvd label.
Their publicity states... How excited we fans were when the announcement came about the discovered MSG footage, how disappointed we were, when seeing the final result…. BMG decided to put the whole show on dvd… although 70% was without footage.
Fortunately STAR has done its job by redoing the MSG footage from scratch, although still no complete show… an incredible 41 minute feature will blow you away, and lets you enjoy the show how it was meant to be! Footage used from 3 shows and several sources creates the ultimate MSG experience.
Also included on this dvd are MSG clips previously released on different STAR releases, now together on one disc, and some incredible footage from Opening Night (June 9)

Really looking forward to this one. Star have done some great DVDs over the years and can't wait for this one!!
Yes I will be getting this as well. Star have given me hours of enjoyment over the years and for a handful of dollars this is an all win no lose situation. Some of their output has misfired while others have been edited by myself for my extra enjoyment e.g. The Fantasy Concert. They have their detractors but for me they could teach the powers that be an awful lot about what the fans want.
Now we are talking serious!! As i wrote in my comment about the Sonny release, i was waiting for Star to do their magic.
This is what i was dreaming about. Didn’t saw the Star DVD, but they never, ever, let me down. They have been doing the most amazing stuff in Presley World for almost a decade. They are superb. Thank very much, because you must be just really fans, just like us, that believe that Elvis was the greatest cultural, social and artistic force we had in modern culture. Have to contact my Fan Club and go to my forum!!
Well having just watched this it's ok, but the quality of the added video is well, not great, but at least you are not watching a black and blank screen.
Gorse - interesting comment re the fantasy concert, what / how did you edit?
Hi Bestoftherest I used Nero and knocked out jumpy bits of Fever and replaced with Omaha July1 1974,and added Hotel and BSS from Houston, and tinkered with other tracks like Love Me Tender where it is hazy. I did the all amateur The Fans Concert through ebay years ago, now outdated, before Star and for my use have done Unchained Pittsburgh using mostly 76 and 77 film where Pittsburgh is poor or missing like My Way. A DVD-R which the detractors here will soundly criticise but i like it.
Gorse, don't let detractors spoil your fun ! What counts is that you like and enjoy it ! Always El.
Thanks Benny, we all have so many differing points of view in this forum but I won't let the 'rascals' wear me down :-)
thanks for the ideas Gorse. Benny is right, if you enjoy it then do it. I may try doing something myself on this.
