Despite all the problems you read about regarding these two Stax sessions, some of my favourite 70's songs got recorded here (OK, I'm not talking about "3 corn Patches" & a couple of others!)You read about Elvis being in ill humour & not taking it seriously, but listening to the chat between the takes he is being very pleasant, amusing, encouraging & obviously trying hard. It does prove the old maxim "Don't believe everything you read"! Eagerly looking forward to this one too.

It makes a change to see a good quality album being released, after all the re-hashed rubbish that has been put out recently. I'm looking forward to finding out the exact release date and I know what I'm getting my hubby to get me for Xmas...lol

I will have it for sure. This is a MUST for each Elvis fan. By the way when will we hear that a FTD cd will be certified gold or Platinum or Multi platinum?

I've been waiting for this one for quite awhile - esp. after hearing the sound on FTD's ROR release. Hopefully, "Promised Land" will be released soon as well. I'm hopeful since FTD released all three albums from the June 1970 sessions in close succession that they'll do the same with these Stax sessions.
As far as outtakes, there's not a lot of material that hasn't been released. The best of the unreleased outtakes should come from "Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues", "She Wears My Ring", and "I've Got a Thing About You Baby." Hopefully, we'll get most of if not all of the album undubbed. I like the undubbed ROR tracks much more than the overdubbed released versions. I can't wait to see the complete tracklisting for this one - don't let us down Ernst.

Orion - the only 2 songs on "Raised On Rock" that are overdubbed are "Girl of Mine" and "Sweet Angeline" - which Elvis himself added his vocal to later on. Everything else on the original album was undubbed.

Matt - you are correct, and I apologize for my error. Hope I didn't mislead anyone.

Really looking forward to this release. Hopefully it will sound as good as the Raised On Rock FTD release and not as terrible as Today. Ernst: Please keep Lene Reidel away from it.
