FTD is pleased to announce the release of Standing Room Only as special 2-disc 180-gram vinyl set. Supplied in a gatefold sleeve, the album features the alternative sleeve contender before the famous shot from Jacksonville took pole position before the album was officially withdrawn in 1972.
For those confused or bemused by the sleeve for FTD’s recent 2-CD Set, it represents RCA’s final chosen draft design for SRO before it’s subsequent use for the Madison Square Garden project.

Wonderful! Beautiful! Gorgeous! An album that should have been. Now that it is, I must have it.
An absolute must!!!! They really know how to make the vinyl packages apealing. Why on earth didn't they use this for the cd package?????
RonBaker, I can tell you why they didn't use this for the CD package. To make you buy both the CD
AND the vinyl editions! No way man!!
EJF : so what's wrong with that ? Selling cds and/or vinyl is still ( normal) business isn't it ? And nobody is forced to buy the cd AND the vinyl version. A record company isn't a charity institution, and that goes for all record companies, not for FTD only. Always El.
Benny Scott: I never said that it's wrong. If you or other fans want to purchase both versions good
luck to you. All I did was answer RonBaker as to why (in my opinion) they put miniscule differences on each version, either in song selection and/or packaging, to tempt more buyers in purchasing both. Well, I'm not tempted!
Hi EJF, of course you didn't litteraly say it's wrong, but the undertone of your reaction spoke for itself: 'To make you buy.... No way..." . You're not tempted ? That's OK with me. ! And by the way : I won't buy both either. No harm done ! Always El.
Why of why didnt they package Elvis albums like this during his lifetime instead of those cheap unflattering cover designs used in the 70's? Even the Aloha LP was an awful package.
It looks very nice. I wonder why they haven't fixed the obvious backwards Bonja photo though. That's a shame. Otherwise beautiful release!
nothing beats vinyl for packaging thou the 7 inch FTDs come close. this release almosts tempts me back to buying vinyl. if you buy it and look after it, it will worth 3 times its value in a few years gien its limited run. i agree with you dgirl about the packaging of the 70`s. they did do a good job on the worldwide hits box set and elvis country but the rest leave alot to be desired.
EJF: They're not making me do anything. I'm buying this vinyl release because I want to. I also bought the Blue Hawaii vinyl. The packaging you say? No. In my case it would be the SOUND.
There's a warmth to the sound on vinyl that the cd will never match. I expect I will buy all vinyl releases on FTD. Yes, I also bought/will buy the cd versions.
The packaging looks better than the contents.
great package, also great content, i allready reserved my copy : ) looks awesome WOW
I have sold all my FTD CD's after listening to Easy Come Easy Go. The CD’s are made in a poor way. Sometimes I have the feeling that those are made just to make them without any quality control. I want to stick to LP’s and I hope that FTD will issue Jungle Room Session on LP. That would be a great one in my LP collection. TCB
i would sell my ftds after listening to easy come easy go !! quality control ??? yoga is as yoga does??? the love machine?? there wasnt any quality control in the first place. as elvis himself said what can you do with crap like this?
I guess, going back to vynil i a wise move. Art left the building the day CD's entered. But yes, RCA did some awful covers. I once sent some cover ideas to RCA Germany in my late teens as I studied typography. They came back with a note, they wouldn't fit into their design pattern. Well, remember the white LP with a the triangled photograph on it pointing to the bootom? There, 5 years later I found quite my own idea again ;-) I just had to send them in some visions back then due to these awful covers...So let's hope the don't fall back to that routine again. It's a rich design. Modern and classy at the same time.
Why is there a pic from On Tour? And yes steve if only the contents were as good as the artwork!
It's apparently an actual draft version they were going to use in some way. I welcome the vinyl release (I've ordered "Blue Hawaii" as well) but find the CD version a bit of a let down as some already say it's sounding worse than 1999's way too similar "Burning Love." This is a fun concept. I"m glad they've done it.
I really like the album design as shown here. Very nice.
