Up next from the Madison import label will be the CD '' Rock My Soul - Standing Room Only Tapes, Vol. 5," with a fully-illustrated, 16-page booklet. The running time is little over 65 minutes.
From the press-release:
"Rock My Soul" concludes the chronicling of Elvis in a hot rehearsal at RCA Hollywood. Hear Presley, the TCB band and the Stamps Quartet run down the upcoming tour with a focus and a sense of fun, with unexpected delights like "Young and Beautiful" and a stunning gospel jam, featuring only Elvis, Charlie Hodge on piano and the Stamps providing backing and sometimes lead vocals. This spirited closing segment is presented as it was recorded then, with piano on one channel and vocals on the other.
Finally, fans can enjoy the unedited second half of this March 31, 1972 rehearsal -- in superb stereo!

The design on this import is just great. Whoever does them has a great eye unlike so many other labels out there. Madison imports just resonate class which is great news for us fans because there was a long drought on quality imports for a while. Keep up the great work guys.
Very great! I hope in Hampton concert too...
There's no doubt as to the quality that this one will hold. I have enjoyed "Sunset Rundown" almost daily since receiving it last week. I can't wait to get this one - esp. the unedited "Young & Beautiful." Madison has definitely set the bar pretty high for all other labels. Keep 'em coming !!
I'm glad everyone has "got religion" about Madison being at the head of the class with their great releases. To me, it's a new golden era, especially since I missed many of the earlier versions, which are now badly dated in comparision and can't match today's standard for sound and presentation. And you're right: Madison's "Sunset Rundown' is a real keeper. I keep returning to it.
dissappointing??? my boy , my boy.....
They should work on the covers as some of them have not done the material justice! This photo does nothing for the cd.
I will get this one for sure !
Again, there are NO photo's from the actual rehearsal that could be used for a cover - Only the live shot's are good enough (quality wise). And if you milk the whole lot over 5 CD's, well there are some concessions to be made ...
I didn't particulary like 'Sunset Rundown' because we have all songs from this cd on FTD in far better quality, but, again, I ordered 'Rock My Soul' already. I guess I'm too weak to fight with Madison :)
By the way, the cover is simply beautiful IMO.
The Sunset Rundown was not all released on the FTD, secondly, the mix is completely different, and have to say that I prefer the Madison mix. The Rock My Soul sounds very promising looking at the tracklisting. Love the cover too btw.
Probably one of the WORST covers i´ve ever seen...YAK!
nothing wrong with this picture, get a grip. Yeezzz,it's elvis ok? i cannot believe the negative comments concerning this picture. it's that i read it this time, for once, usually i don't read negative comments. i think this is a great release once again, THNX Madison
I'm leavin', too bad it's only 41 seconds..
These reharsals are fantastic,i'll get them all!
I shall get this CD, that's for sure. Thnx Madison!
It's gotten to the point where a Madison release is "beyond criticism" the way that a BMW or Mercedes is sure to be total German quality, no questions necessary. Always the best ever sound, a totally premium booklet, artwork and overall value. As for the cover, the reflexive recoiling of anything that resembles the parodied late-period Elvis is unfortunate. When you see that cover, recall how he would get into a gospel song, especially when others like J.D. Sumner were hitting their heights--- this is the King reveling in the Gospel as sung by his fellow man. Nothing more, nothing less. A wise choice.. Looking forward to getting this...
.... and a wise reaction, too!
Sally, "horrible" only only if you're too blind to imagine (or remember) that this is him in concert getting into that great gospel singing. So his hair is a bit messy and his eyes are closed. Big deal. He's not closing them to be asleep (or dead): he's almost meditating over the "sweet sweet spirit." Get a clue! And wonder all you want about tapes (presumably as good as they are, these are not the mastertapes themselves and if so, just a great copy) but why act angry about such a great label? What kind of a fan are you? No one else is matching Madison short of a few simililar labels: Fort Baxter et al. These are for hard-core fans only, anyway.
P.S. Sally, in advance I say I'm sorry for my intense reaction about you "getting a clue," etc. Please concentrate on the content of my comments, not the nasty tone. Just trying to be more civil - and practice what I preach of late. :)
I've just bought "Sunset Rundown",that's a fantastic CD! Can't wait to get the second part of this march 31st rehearsal. Good work,Madison. Top-notch quality,as always. Keep them coming!
can't wait to hear this one.I love sunset rundown and hillcrest blues.
how about that means you will have no money left.
Ep mastervoice, remember im your bestest friend,as for the booklets with all Ftds its not gonna happen!
