Do you mean LATER this year? I would like to know if the picture and audio quality will be improved. The earlier version I own has terrible picture/audio quality. In fact, when are we going to see "official" re-mastered releases of this and all other 50's shows like Milton Berle, Jackie Gleason, Ed Sullivan etc and with all the shows intact and NOTHING left out? How about a 50th Anniversary Release of The Jackie Gleason Shows to start with. That would be next year!

Maybe it's in Color this time? The cover is in color now.Should be, or else what's the use of re-issuing the poor blurr quality version again and again??

remastering this material cost alot of money & the technology back then wasn't that crash hot. So, the result from the remastering would be that great. You would need the gentleman ( Can't remember his name, sorry )who remastered Roy Orbison's Black & White Night dvd, even thought it was recorded in the eighties. Is fantastic.

The problem with the Frank Sinatra show is that a telerecording is all that is known to exist. The show was originally recorded on video tape, and if that recording still existed, the quality would be near perfect. Restoration work could be done to the existing film recording, but probably only EPE or BMG would consider such doing such work, as other labels are content to release this material in lesser quality. The BBC are currently re-mastering much of their very early programmes for DVD release, and the results are outstanding. As well as correcting imperfections frame by frame, they have a system called Vidfire, which recreates the information lost on the original transfer from video to film. This gives us back some of the depth of image that only video can capture. Compare the "68 Special"/"Aloha" sequences in the original cinema version of "This Is Elvis" to the video version, this will illustrate the above. Finances are the major issue with this work, but if the BBC can find the resources to carry out this work on old programmes like "Doctor Who" and "Quatermass", I am sure it can be found for Elvis releases which surely would sell more on a worldwide basis. Two years ago, I would not have held out much hope for restoration work like this ever being carried out, but after the two DVD sets last year, anything is possible. Before anyone mentions "Elvis On Tour", let me remind everyone that EPE do not own the rights to the film. As for "Elvis In Concert", they have made their postion clear many times over the non-release of this programme.

i'm sure they'll eventually do a remastered version of "elvis on tour". as for "elvis in concert", the last thing i ever read was, that one day they might release it, but as of right now, there putting it off till they feel the time is right. the "timex show" i probably won't buy till they do a better job.

When are they going to release that concert that Elvis did in Canada in '57 I think it was with the "Jailhouse Rock" banner at the back of the stage. We alway's see bit's & pieces of it Elvis wearing the black slack's & gold jacket when he was still doing those great moves, windmill arm / rubber leg's ect ect that's what we whant to see,isn't it ! Never seen it complete.
