Spring Fever

Rating:
3.8 / 5

Words & Music: Bill Giant Bernie Baum Florence Kaye

A little bird, he told me so
He said come on, get on the go
Open your eyes the sky is full of butterflies
The blossoms on the trees stir up the honey bees
Spring makes my fever right

Spring fever, Spring is here at last
Spring fever, my heart's beating fast
Get up, get out spring is everywhere

Well if you feel the wanderlust
Just grab a car or hop a bus
In every town there's excitement to be found
So much is happening
Don't miss the joy of spring
The world's in love just look around

Spring fever comes to everyone
Spring fever, it's time for fun
Get up, get out spring is everywhere

Spring fever, it's Spring fever time
Spring fever, watch that fever climb
Get up, get out spring is everywhere

Spring is everywhere

A lively little tune from Elvis' 17th movie "Girl Happy". Not a great track, but a pleasant, listenable song that features a duet with Shelly Fabares in the movie and a solo from Elvis on the soundtrack LP. The Jordinaires are perfect on this one as usual.

Not a great track from a not so great soundtrack. Not the worst song on Girl Happy though.

I've always liked this lively, fun, catchy and good song and my favorite version of it is definitely the duet between Elvis Presley and Shelley Fabares in the movie "Girl Happy". Elvis' solo version is terrific, but not as good as the duet version. This is my second most favorite song from the "Girl Happy" movie.

Dire film, never watched it again after seeing it on it's first cinema run.Bought the LP as I did with every Elvis release and played that just the one time and shelved it.The song is not the worst by any means but hardly inspiring.

The song fits the movie. I much prefer Wolf Call and the title track. Shelley Fabres was by far his best co-star.

I like it. It's fun. That's why I enjoy most of Elvis' movie music. It's fun. It puts me in a good mood. It reminds me of better times.

Yes, I agree it's fun! It also works for the scene in the movie! And it doesn't sound so speed up, like some of the other tracks on the album. Would have been a dream come true to have the entire album "corrected" including full lenght of songs.

Enjoyed the film and the songs in the movie but many lost their impact on vinyl without the visuals. This song is passable but having just watched the duet on YouTube with Shelley Fabares, I find that a lot more enjoyable and entertaining.

Fun, engaging song. Featured in a cool animated tv advertisement in Australia about 10 years ago. Check it out..."where spring comes from".
