That’s The Way It Is SE – China

November 16, 2004 | Video
We picked up this edition of "That’s The Way It Is SE" from China, it was released last august on the Flying Pig label. Since it is some what of a collectors item, we decided to do a review so you can determine if it is worth getting. It is only for sale in Hong Kong and Macau.

Design

As with a lot of designs from the Far East the package looks great. With this good shot from the movie you can’t go wrong. You can go wrong with the five images at the bottom of the slipcase, they are from the “1968 Comeback Special”.

On the back the we find the Elvis in the fifties, again a good shot, but completely out of time and place. The same goes for the “Jailhouse Rock” image inside. Also inside an overview of new releases by contemporary artists, both western and oriental. It is good to see Elvis has a place between these new artists.

Content

The disc seems to be a copy from the French edition of this movie. We can only select English or French subtitles. The concert is the same as the release most of us have at home, so no news there, it is still the same exiting movie. See our original review for that.

The “patch It Up” special is the only item missing from the original release. It is featured in the bonus menu, but by selecting it the DVD player stops.

Conclusion

This edition looks great, but isn’t complete. So only get it as a fun item for your collection, and spare copy for the good version you probably have laying around your DVD player.

this is a proof that the french edition is full of crap. it offers 'patch it up' in the menu but cannot be played. real crap and inferior product.
