Considering the few remaining things in the can for Sony/FTD to issue, I give this release a 5-star rating, and I will be buying.

bajo, we might as well get it. There aren't many more original albums left for FTD to rework & reissue.

I am really pleased with the home recordings on CD 2, they now sound the best I've ever heard them. Almost all of the original horrible distortion on Elvis' vocal and on the piano particularly has now been eliminated and they sound so much better for it. Thanks FTD and some great work by Jan Eliasson on the restoration.

Received this FTD issue in the mail yesterday and first off the 2nd CD of home recordings by Elvis while he was in the Army in Germany isn't as bad as some folks would lead you to believe, other than the last 4 songs which are very, very distorted and I don't know why they included them, but is interesting to listen to these informal tunes. The outtakes on "Is It So Strange". which is the main reason I broke down and bought this CD were very disappointing as the outtakes takes 2 thru 9 were basically short starts and stops as to the initial takes. All in all, one of my favorite LP's (yes, I have the original).
